Is it not clear that God wants...
Edwards to survive, so he can be Vice-President? I mean he and everyone else on the plane survived a potential disaster, so one can easily infer that God wants him in the whitehouse!

4. If you want to talk about divine intent...
...don't forget to include all those Class IV and Class V hurricanes in Florida this year.

5. 9V batteries explode all the time. But when it happens on the plane...
...of a guy everyone's praying lives a long, happy, fulfilling, rewarding life, people get nervous.

It wasn't a potential disaster. Neither was the earlier problem on the plane.

7. In Cleveland last week, Edwards's plane was going down the runway for
takeoff and a warning light went off. I think a generator wasn't drawing current off one of the engines. There are generators running off all the engines, so losing one is no big deal. But because the plane wasn't past the point of no return on the runway, they did not take off (which is SOP). They went back to the gate, fixed the generator and took off in the same plane 1 hour later.

Yesterday a reporter was changing a 9v battery on a piece of equipment. That battery caught fire (leaky acid?). The reporter threw it down on his seat and it smoldered. It was put out imediately, but SOP is to land when there's a fire in the cabin. The plane was only 5 minutes into flight so it went back to the airport it had just left.

Both stories are most notable because they're stealing valuable campaign time from Edwards and not because they were 'dangerous.'

9. agreed, but I can understand
why they would get coverage... the memory of Wellstone is just too recent and folks are still jittery per the dangers of planes.

you all missed the humor of the post. The christian taliban as well as the chimp, are fond of saying that * is the chosen one. My point is maybe God averted a disaster, because Edwards is actually the VP of the chosen one, using their logic ( or lack thereof) of course.

12. Are you saying God 'missed'?
Do you think that 'God' tried to kill Edwards, and failed?

That would be kind of a pathetic god, wouldn't it? I mean, even the old Norse and Roman gods had no trouble smiting humans when it struck their fancy...
