Went to Kerry rally in Miami tonight
and what an incredible night is was. We had seats about ten rows back. Thousands of people. Bette Middler and THE BOSS entertained. They were great - but the highlight was JK.
All those stories about him being wooden are so wrong. He is very charismatic. Spoke for an hour (in complete sentences) and was concise and on point.

What also was very apparent was the diversity of the crowd - working people, retirees, students, black, white and hispanic.

We are going to win. People are so pumped up. I am 60 years old (please don't tell anyone) and I have never seen an election like this one.

5. Killing people is wrong; people know that.
If it was wrong on 9/11, it is wrong today. If it isn't wrong today, then was it wrong on 9/11?

See how what we are doing brings everything about our "values" into question.

People are very tired of Pharisees and hypocrits.

7. Thanks, miamimama. You are right about Kerry being charismatic. In 2000
the media said that Gore could not pick him for VP because of this. Funny how quickly the media forgot this when they got the RNC talking points from Karl Rove after Kerry won the nomination.

Here is a link and excerpt.

Kerry: Beauty and the Beast

By Liz Cox Barrett

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, there was a senator named John who found himself on Al Gore's short list of potential running mates.

The campaign press in the summer of 2000 was entranced with John. It tumbled all over itself to describe John as the perfect match for what it saw as the somewhat wooden, robot-like Gore. One newspaper described John as a man with "an easy manner and good looks," a politician whose "charisma rub off on ," a person who could "bring some charm to the ticket." John's selection, it opined, would signal that Gore "thinks the election will be decided on personality." A television reporter also regarded this John as "charismatic."Another newspaper saw him as "younger and more telegenic than Dick Cheney." Yet a third newspaper called him handsome," with "a record tailor-made to undermine the standard Republican attack on liberal Democrats."

This John's surname was Kerry -- though if you guessed Edwards, you are more than excused -- and the press outlets that offered the above descriptions were the St. Petersburg Times, NBC News, the Boston Globe, and the (New York) Daily News, respectively.

What a difference 1,460 days make.

10. I agree! Very Charismatic!!
I've gone to three rallies where both Kerry & Edwards were there and Kerry is quite charismatic. I just don't see it when these TV talking heads say he is not likeable and stiff. I guess to each his own but I still think they're nuts. And even though Edwards is quite handsome, I don't even see him overshadowing Kerry in that respect either. Kerry is just very distinguished.

BTW, I watched "Going Upriver" tonight and am quite anxious to have this outstanding man and leader as MY PRESIDENT. The next four days can not go fast enough!!!

Go Kerry!!

14. I watched 'Going Upriver' tonight, too
A lot of people don't understand the courage it took for JK to take a stand against the war after coming home.
My wife and I had a good laugh at that dick, John O'Neill, getting his pep talk from The Trickster before getting pummelled on Dick Cavett.

So Kerry is going upriver, getting shot at, boat shot up like a swiss cheese -- meanwhile, Monkey Bush is back home snorting coke, swilling JD and screwing Mexican hookers. Yeah, I have to put a 'lot' of thought into that choice, hey.

12. I nominate you for the Wheel of Fortune or a game of Scrabble
Wow, an impressive user name with 9 characters but only 3 different letters. That's hard to come up with!

My dad went to that rally also, after seeing Edwards the other night. I'm looking forward to his report via email later tonight. And he'll think you're a youngster. Dad's in his 70s.
