IMHO - The media is imploding on this issue. Bin Laden is despised by Americans and, well, just about everyone. The fact that the media is making a political issue out of this is what is pathetic.
Remember when the Times on Tuesday said in a headline that the explosives had become a "Campaign Issue" and Bush* freaked? There is a difference between an event and an issue. I heard both candidates say just about the same thing today regarding the tapes. That means the NY Times headline tomorrow will be "Bin Laden tape surfaces" or something like this. On Sunday, hopefully, the headline will not be Bin Laden Tape a Campaign Issue. If the cable news media had their way, this would already BE a campaign issue.
We should not give any credence at all to this tape. The only issue that deserves merit is that this tape confirms that Bin Laden is alive and still actively working against us.
If a campaign issue arrises from one of these imperical facts, fine. If anyone pays any attention to what is said on the tape, or the occasion of the tapes release, they are being manipulated by the madman Bin Laden.
