I just returned from working the early voting polls
so I have been away from the news for many hours. I come in, turn the TV on, and see OBL and hear some snippets from his speech. From what I heard it did not sound like anything that would benefit bush, it actually seemed to make him look bad, (mentioning him reading the goat book was surreal) and the first thing I thought was: "Wow, here is an absolute reminder of how bad bush has failed."

Then I log onto DU and see all the "panic posts", the "I'm depressed now posts", and the "this is bad for Kerry posts"! Now I'm thinking: "Wow, what a downer."

I guess seeing and hearing the OBL tape without all the spin from both the media and DU was the best way to watch it.

Now, on to the task at hand: Getting John Kerry Elected. The early voting poll I worked today in NC was busy. The wait line was 2+ hours. I was passing out leaflets for voting instructions showing all the local democratic candidates. The judges and school board members are not listed as D or R on the ballot so knowing who to support before you get in the booth is important.

I was warned that I would not have many takers, as I was working a heavy repub district. Well I had a great day. I ran out of leaflets. I was wearing my DEMOCRAT shirt and I had people seeking me out to get the information. Many cars came in with K/E bumperstickers. It was a successful day.

So there you go fellow DUers. I will not let OBL or negative posts pop my bubble, burst my balloon, rain on my parade, .....

11. No. You can't wear a button
that is not allowed. That is like carrying a sign.

12. In CA my understanding is Yes

If you are working in anyway at the polling location the answer is NO NO NO

California just made massive changes, for the good IMO, of their Voting Rules.

13. I have heard that you are not supposed to, but I do not know
for sure. I am a poll watcher on e-day and I do know as an observer I cannot. No one that I saw voting today had on any paraphenalia.

5. Thanks for the pep talk
I think that everything was going so well for Kerry that this unknown factor is unsettling.

Thanks for your campaign work for our next president!

17. Great post and...
...people need to pay attention to what you said when you stated,

"I guess seeing and hearing the OBL tape without all the spin from both the media and DU was the best way to watch it."

Because thats how the majority of Americans watched it. They aren't running to the DU to hear nervous ninnies, or going to freeperland to hear their spin. They heard it, then they went out ot eat on Friday night and probably to go see a movie. Lets not get carried away with our own echo chamber here.

Good report, and keep up the good work!
