Everybody sees this tape and magically jumps into the world of the GOP "false delimma:"


"Oh my god, since Osama released a tape saying that neither Bush or could keep us safe, and mocked George Bush, this MUST mean that al Qaeda is endorsing John Kerry for president."


This is what's called a false delimma. Kind of like "you're with us, or against us." or "John Kerry is a traitor because he protested the Vietnam War."

The simple truth is this: he IS taunting us. Making his presence known. If he wanted to endorse one of the candidates, he could have just came out and said it, instead of some obfuscating shit that sounds like a postmodern poem.

All he wanted to do was make his presence known. I wouldn't read much more than that into it. He probably knew that he was the "October Surprise," so he did this, when it would get a shit ton of press.

I can translate the entire tape for you in one sentence:

"You didn't get me you dumb motherfuckers."


*****Also, on edit, I want to add that it's a possibility that he simply made this tape to let us -- the American people -- know where he stands. To have him in our sights for our votes. In the tape, it appears that he's calmly explaining why they attacked us -- over our foreign policy. Perhaps he's simply trying to tell us: look, you fucked us over, and we won't have a need to kill you if you stop fucking us over.

Why not take the message at face value, as well?
