Because here's the thing about the TERRA TERRA TERRA strategy:

*It only works on people who believe that Bush will keep us safer than Kerry will.*

That group is a lot smaller after the explosives story than it was a week ago.

If you have already decided, because of the explosives or whatever, that Bush is actually making you more vulnerable, an OBL tape comin' atcha is just another reason to get your ass to the booth to vote the bastard out. It also handily reminds everyone that Bush never got him.

If Bush *does* haul OBL in on MOnday, NOv. 1, well, props to him, but ain't NO way people will not see what's going on here...and be pissed at him for waiting 4 years.

DUBAI (Reuters) - Arab satellite television Al Jazeera said on Friday it would broadcast a video tape from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden (news - web sites) addressing the American people.

It said the tape, to be aired at 4 p.m. EDT, would discuss the reasons behind the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States and their repercussions. It gave no further details.

It's a big backfire for them. I know of people who LAUGH at terror alerts now. Which is kind of bad in a way, but that's what you get when you play with people and fearmonger for three years.

Bush never mentions Osama or the Supreme Court unless forced by a direct question, so I assume they've concluded both topics hurt Bush more than they help.

One more reason the terror video de jour probably won't help Bush at all.

I think it will again just cement our views. But as I mentioned elsewhere, it could scare the mythical security mom vote into switching over to Kerry. If OBL is still out there to threaten, they might realize Bush ain't been making their kids safer after all.
