this station has a right-wing/freeper type base and they are furious with KSTP-TV for its reporting on the 380 tons. (KSTP is the Mpls.-St. Paul station that offered proof that the 380 tons were there AFTER the fall of Baghdad. The station devoted 16 minutes of it 10 p.m. newscast to the story. They have a couple of KSTP-TV news people on with the morning hosts, and they are taking flack. The hosts, including Repub atty Ron Rosenbaum, are defending the reporting. Some of it is just unbelievable. Callers are asking the most stupid questions you could imagine.
one lady: "I heard Cindy Brucato say last night that the reporters on that story were Democrats. what do you say to that?" Rosenbaum: "No, there was nothing like that." "I heard her say it twice." R: "No, nothing like that was mentioned. I watched the whole thing and I heard nothing like that." KSTP-TV guy: "I don't even know the politics of these reporters."
another caller: "If these explosives could be used to detonate a new-kew-lar bomb, that proves that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq." Rosenbaum: "Sir, if that were true, don't you think President Bush would be crowing about it?"
Another guy called them "hacks" for the Kerry campaign. Another guy said he had been a loyal listener/viewer for years, esp. after they hired Cindy Brucato (a former spokeswoman for a GOP Gov., Arne Carlson) but he would never listen or watch again since they aired "this trash."
send them emails! Thank them for their reporting! tell them to keep it up....they must fulfill their obligation to inform the public.

wonder if all this will cause a sea change in the outlook at KSTP...
