Let's rate Bush on the same scale.
same-sex marriage - Let's pretend for a moment that this isn't a wedge issue. We already see that, and Bush couldn't do anything about it anyhow. It'll be left up to the states. So talk to your local representatives about that.
government-run socialized medicine - Medicaid and Medicare come to mind. But I'm sure that the writer won't take advantage of Medicare when he is eligible because it's government run, right?
bankrupt Social Security - We're already doing THAT, too. And as a 25 year old, I likely have more to bitch about than this writer does.
further erosion of Second Amendment rights - Bush wants AK47s legal (which ties in to the safety thing later), so I guess he's got a point here. But is this really a good idea?
a more hostile business climate - The climate is only as hostile as the business, and "business" has been hostile towards the public. No unregulated (or over-regulated) system of economics has ever propsered for any real length of time. Right now, though, there is almost no regulation at all.
higher taxes - Property taxes in most states went up MORE than income taxes went down, due to the lack of funding for No Child Left Behind. They money has to come from somewhere, and if not from income taxes, then from other taxes and fees.
less personal freedom - The Patriot Act, Guantanamo Bay, the merging of religion and government. . . all Bush "accomplishments". I have fewer rights than I did 4 years ago, plain and simple.
less security - Bush allowed terrorists access to 377 tons of military grade explosives, ignored the terrorist who planned 9/11, and allowed assault rifles to become legal in the USA (which the al Qaeda handbook specificly says to take advantage of).
decline as the foremost world power - We can't be a world power without the backing of "the world" (regardless of the Imperial aspirations of PNAC). Bush has done more to harm our status as a World Power than any President in the history of the nation.
I believe the word I'm looking for here is. . . PWNED!
(It's a geeky video game reference, look it up).
