Bumper Stickers for W... Where have they all gone?
It may just be me, or my luck in not seeing Bush 04' stickers, but it seems like I am seeing a lot less lately.

I commute an hour to work each day in Atlanta. I see hundreds of cars each morning. On Monday I felt like I was heading to a Bush rally. There were Bush bumper stickers everywhere. It was really sad.

As you would expect, I thought I would see the same thing over the next few days. I actually tried to see if I could figure out the percentage by comparing the number of stickers to cars without stickers. I wouldn't suggest trying this. I almost wrecked twice, and it's really hard.

The good news is that now I am having a hard time finding any Bush stickers at all. I barely saw any yesterday morning and today.

What gives!! Are Bush supporters starting to see the light, or are they embarrassed by Bush's actions of late. Either way, I am happy with it. I just wish I would start seeing more Kerry stickers.

1. Funny you say that. I saw 5 for Kerry and none for Bush on my way to work.

2. YES!
I am noticing many more Kerry-Edwards stickers in the parking lot on campus. Maybe I started a trend!!

I'm getting mean looks from the Bush/Cheney ones now, though. Didn't used to before.

5. BTW, has anyone out there yet seen a Bush button?
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 09:23 AM by fertilizeonarbusto
Here in Pittsburgh, I ride the bus a lot, and, to kill time, I count bumper stickers, lawn and window signs and buttons for both candidates. Back in 2000, I did the same thing and sometimes * won, sometimes Gore won. This time, Kerry ALWAYS wins the count and wins big. And, oddest, I've yet to spot ONE person wearing a Bush button on their person, while I've seen literally hundreds of Kerry ones. Are they even making buttons? Or are the Rethugs ashamed of being so closely associated with such a Miserable Failure?

9. Good question. I haven't seen one - and I live in Texas.
Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 09:31 AM by txindy
Junior has signs and bumper stickers here, but I haven't seen a single shirt or button. Plenty of Kerry signs, shirts, stickers and buttons. Even plenty of anti-Junior shirts and buttons. But none for Junior. :toast:

Not a single Bush sticker in the last couple days. And I have driven about 100 miles in two days.

11. Maybe they are preparing for a Bush loss...
I've been thinking lately that it will be great to see all of these bumper stickers if Bush loses. I wonder if they are foreseeing a Bush loss and are taking the bumper stickers off now.

Would you want to be laughed at riding around with a bumper sticker from the loser? I wouldn't, and I'm sure many others don't as well...

or, maybe it's just wishful thinking.

13. I live in Atlanta, but commute an hour out to a rural county
In Atlanta, it's Kerry 9-1 over bush.

this county is freeperville, but there are Kerry/Edwards stickers and signs starting to pop up even out here.

if bush loses his redneck base, he is sunk.

16. I see lots more Bush stickers...
than Kerry stickers, but then, I live in south Georgia. I think people (myself included) are afraid their cars will get trashed if some Bush freak sees a K/E sticker on it. Bush freaks have been taking down dozens of signs here, too. On campus, though, you'll see lots of K/E stickers on the cars in the faculty parking lot. The academics are going for Kerry...what does that tell you? :-)

17. Where do you go to school?
Georgia Southern?

I definitely don't have any ideas of Georgia going for Kerry, but I have noticed fewer Bush stickers. I wish I lived in Athens again. I know there are Kerry stickers everywhere.

22. Athens is bush country
Bush will always get the drunken frat-boy vote from UGA

Meanwhile, Georgia Tech, a school abuot more than football and bouncing quarters into shot glasses, is heavily anti-Bush.

Must be the brain power thing.

27. What are you talking about?
First you say it's 9 to 1 Kerry in Atlanta. Are you crazy? I see 20 to 1 Bush. The only time I ever see K/E stickers is when I go to Athens. I see them everywhere. Maybe you're a Tech fan. I don't know, but to say Kerry has a lead anywhere(50/50 in Athens) in Georgia is crazy.

18. Here in a GOP-leaning part of California...
...four years ago there were many Bush signs and stickers, and few Gore stickers and no signs. This year, there are few Bush stickers and very few signs and many Kerry stickers and signs, even in my own neighborhood.

Not only that, but a my precinct has a Democratic organizer who actually came to my door. That's a wonderful change and just what's needed to turn things around!

19. Unfortunately (for me) they have all migrated to Texas
Jeebus, but I hate driving to and from work. Shrub stickers outnumber Keery rounghly 5 to 1.

The good news is that is down from about 7 to 1 a month ago, and yesterday was the best Kerry day yet: 6 Kerry, 8 Bush. For the 49th worst State in the union (sorry OK), that's not too bad.

a lot more kerry stickers.

if you asked me i would say that it has been embarrassing to have a bush sticker on the car so only die hards and fundies still have them.

and i drive through downtown miami and down into the southwest through little havana every day.

23. I've got a story, too.
A house in the neighborhood where I go walking was one of the first to put up a B/C sign, quite a while ago. I was very tempted, when I first saw it, to slap a "No W" sticker on there, but I resisted the urge. Once hubby and I worked up the courage to put up our own K/E sign (this is TX), I realized how uncomfortable I would be with someone coming on to my lawn to deface it, so I totally gave up on the idea.

However, I did make a lot of copies of the column by Eisenhower's son to leave at Starbucks, tuck under a windshield wiper on a W04 car, etc. I just recently had the idea to make a paper airplane of one of those and glide it into their back yard. I did that last week when I went walking, walking away from the house very briskly. Imagine my surprise this week when I went walking and their B/C sign was GONE. No other B/C signs in the area were disturbed, so it was probably not taken. It is still gone today, and there has been plenty of time for them to replace it if they had wanted to. Have they seen the light? Did they think the paper airplane was a sign from God? Straw that broke the camel's back? Whatever it was, I got a kick out of it.

24. Circle W and ..

Circle W and "My man Mitch" stickers. I LOVE THEM. Why??? Because no one disconnected from politics know what the fuck they mean.

Here in Indiana, My Man Mitch stands in for Mitch Daniels, the former Presidential aide who's never run for office and is now trying to become governor of Indiana. His opponent is Joe Kernan, former Lieutenant governor who's been involved in local South Bend politics and state government since ... FOREVER!!!

Edited on Fri Oct-29-04 10:47 AM by orlin2k
My commute takes my across the Vegas valley and the last few days I've been taking a count of the K/E and B/C stickers. Today's count was 8 for Kerry and 4 for Bush.

You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. W stickers seem to be on every car I see in this community. Of course, this is the hometown of Bushbot congressman Ralph Hall, who had Poppy Bush in our community last week campaigning for him.
