2. Just an intimate gathering
of some of our friends! :D

And then when Bruce was done singing, he spotted a sign on the deck railing of one of the houses there, "Bruce, come on up for a beer" and he DID! He took his wife, and they went up to the second floor flat and watched the rally with the students who lived up there.

A girl who lived there said that Bruce tripped over their internet cable on the way in, and if she had really thought that he'd come up, she might have cleaned up a bit! :wow:

8. sure- that's why everyone around town yesterday after the rally
were carrying Kerry signs and where stickers- all over State street and all over the UW campus. I heard on the local news that 1300 new voters where registered and voted right after the rally!!

5. CNN reported
that after Bruce sang, he lead a banner reading, "FOLLOW ME" to a early voting booth and thousands of people voted right then and there! Since Springsteen isn't on the ballot, I assume those are Kerry votes!

13. Great pics. Thanks
Take my word for it - very few people left early and Kerry was running late. Most of us had been waiting since 10am and people were lined up by 8am when I got there. Kerry didn't speak until 12:30 or 1pm. Madison is definitely Kerry coutry.

Kerry had some great lines! If we have his back for the next 5 days, starting in January he would have ours.

15. I just have to RANT for a minute
These crowds to me are unbelievably large. I was at the rally in Philly with Clinton, and it was almost unreal.
So, how is it possible that the race is supposed to be so close? I mean, does this look like a LOSER to you? And today on my local news radio station (which definitely leans Republican) they were making a big fucking deal over the fact that Bush drew 20 thousand people to a rally in a very Republican area. (He does NOT come to the city of Philadelphia). And then they made a quick mention that Kerry had a rally with Bruce Springsteen and there was a "sea" of supporters. Afraid to show Bush up with the numbers?

Oh well, my dream is that we shock the shit out them on Tuesday.

16. Can I Relate To Those Pictures
A couple weeks ago, we stopped over in Madison and drove that stretch that's in the photo above. Just for reference, that photo shows at least 3 miles leading up to the capitol. Off to the sides are a bunch of side streets loaded with small stores, bars & restaurants. Most of the UW campus is behind the capitol...and I hear there were crowds partying in that stretch as well.

The pictures didn't even show the crowds behind that I'm told also stretch out for a mile to the east (the picture is facing west). A friend who was there said the crowds started gathering at sunrise and partied well into the afternoon. It was a great day in Madison.

Between the crowds I see here and the other day in Philly, plus I'm told there were huge crowds in Milwaukee & Columbus as well. These people were there to see the Boss, yes, but they were also very aware he was there for Senator Kerry HE was the real star of the show.

If there's anything I'll take from this election, it's the rejuvenation of my political soul...knowing there's a great generation coming that share a lot of the same core values I did and still do.

Cheers!!
