I was noodling over several election predictions and, not liking what I was seeing, gave up on the process. The one I'd settled on as most likely had Kerry winning 272-266, just two votes to spare. That's too close. To hell with it. I then went surfing thru a few favorite sites I've not been able to read lately and saw Kevin Drum's prediction from yesterday.
And, of all things, Drum's prediction matched mine perfectly, state for state. I still hope I'm wrong. Several DUers are quite adament about New Mexico & Iowa going our way. Some cocky souls talk about Colorado still. The occasional bravado about Virginia even still appears round here from time to time. I'd like to think we'll do better, but I think this map may illustrate the current most conservative guess about the outcome.
Yeh, it sucks. But I'd take it.
