What if it happens again?
Chimp loses pop vote but wins the electoral college? Could he really take office again, or would the public outrage be too intense?

2. He won't just give up power
I think he'll cheat somehow. There might not be an election.

5. Take to the streets...our Jeffersonian revolution is way long overdue!
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty.... And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure." - Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334 (C.J. Boyd, Ed., 1950)

6. they let him walk in last time....
Even in the face of massive voter fraud they let Bush waltz right into office. I never see alot of talk here about it, but Moore touched on it in 911....how the dems just went along with the show and did squat. I would hope that this time would be different, but hope is all it is since the same faces will be there.

I also have other hard feelings left over from 2000 and a certain senator from SD is on top of the list of people I will not cry over if they fail in their re-election bids. Spineless, thats the only word that comes to mind when I think of how this person and others acted in the face of tens of thousands of voters disenfranchised in fla and elsewhere. I learned at an early age how to spot the phonies who talk a great game but then balk when its time to fight for whats right.

I hope in my heart we retake the senate AND the house, that Kerry's magic cape is big enough to do it, but coat-tails haven't been very long for either side the last few elections. If all my dreams are going to come true though on Nov 2, then we will win it all in a big way but somehow their will be room for a few stray republicans to oust a few of the wimpier dems and make room for fresh faces the next time around. For dems like me, a guy like Gephardt on the ticket would have made me sit this one out, because I am just so disgusted with the old school dems who play too timid and too nice even when being told to f-off literally.

I guess what I'm really trying to say is I hope the dem leaders are listening to our voice when we win on Nov 2 and not just assuming their brilliant strategy and slick ads fooled us into being on their side. We demand change and are going make it happen. I want more dems who are like Maxine Waters with a side of Bill Clinton and a sprinkling of Al Franken on top for good measure.......NOT the business-as-usual, play-it-safe, one-hand-circle-jerks-the-other people we've seen sneak in over the years.

Sorry for the long post but I drank too much coffee and now I cant sleep. :) PS- if anyone wants to drill me on why TD isn't an asshat, I'm all ears. Since I'm in NY I promise not to vote for his opponent. ;) Luckily we have Schumer here and although I think he has an opponent, to the public the opponents name is still John Doe since the RNC probably only gave him about 47 cents to spend. Schumer has been running the most god-awful corny crap commercials I have ever seen but when your up by as much as he is, you can experiment with strange forms of campaigning where spending the same amount your challenger got, 47 cents, to make your own commercials and then actually running them might be seen as genius.
