I'm thinking seriously about doing a "vote share"
I am in Indiana, solidly Republican, with no return of sanity in sight. Voting for Kerry here will only impact the popular vote.

I want to do more. I want my vote to count for John Kerry where it will make a difference. I know there are questions of legality regarding this, but there is a case about this very subject in the courts now...probably for years.

Even if it was out and out illegal, it most likely wouldn't affect my decision. Call it civil disobedience or whatever. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Having said that, I would like to hear your thoughts. Also, if given a choice, what swing state do you believe would benefit the most?

Thanks in advance.

1. "vote sharing" is a scam...
...just more bullshit psyops. There's no verification, and it's ethically marginal at best, illegal at worst.

2. Don't do it ! It's a trick ! Nader slipped on Washington Journal and
talked about vote share and had a freudian slip saying that then you can have two votes for NADER !!!! It's a dang trick !

4. Based upon the "vote sharing" results from 2000, here's what will happen
You will vote for Nader and that guy in Florida you agreed to share with will vote for Bush.

Don't waste your vote. Go Kerry.

6. Vote your conscience. And don't worry about being "just" a protest
vote. If they didn't really count, no one here would develop an anyeurism any time Nader is mentioned. ;)

8. Voting is too personal to me to give away
Even if I did trust some faceless presence on the internet to keep their word, I wouldn't do it. I remember my first vote. I voted against Ronald Reagan, and to this day I've never felt more American than when I walked into the booth and punched Mondale's name. No way I'd give that up. You could trade children with someone else, but it wouldn't be the same as having your own child.

9. i have only listened and watched nadar this last year, he lies
he is not honest. he doesnt have integrity and i wouldnt trust his supporters either. i have heard to many behind the scenes things to confirm my impression. i think it is a lost vote for you.

i am in texas and i feel the same as you. or i use to. but, what i see now is actively getting dems here to vote to make the margin a lot smaller, not to mention the popular vote. but i want texas to really shrink it margin. i want bush to hear from us democrats here in texas. so i felt good voting here.

12. Your vote DOES matter in Indiana, and Texas, and Georgia...
...for the sake of perception. While I agree your vote will be meaningless for the electoral college, every vote does matter in the popular count, and I suggest that a strong popular count influences congress to at least listen to the president.

Unfortunately Kerry won't win with a large enough mandate to really kick DeLay's and the other knucke-dragging mouth-breathers' asses, but every littel bit he gets over 50% really does help him flex some muscle in the early months.

15. Let it be on their own heads. A vote for Nader *anywhere* is a vote
for Bush. Period.
