I'm thinking of going there to volunteer. Both are neighboring states. If I go, which one should I go to?

1. New Mexico for sure
we will probably win there, but it will be close!

3. New Mexico, definately
I live there and it's really close. I feel it's going to be Kerry in a squeaker with 3 'E's here.

6. I voted
a straight Democratic ticket in Colorado today. That's a start.

7. New Mexico, no question
It's a 50/50 state while Colorado still leans GOP. I think the number is 180,000 more registered Republicans than Democrats in Colorado.

Pursuing Colorado was a mistake, IMO. Arkansas offered more Kerry potential.

8. Colorado is absolutely a toss up.
We registered some 90K new voters. Unaffiliateds now outnumber both Dems and Repukes in Colorado.

Kerry's got a 4 point lead according to Zogby, which jibes with what I'm seeing in Weld, Larimer (both Musky Musgrave territory) Adams, and Boulder County. The metro areas have 1+ hour waits at the early voting polls and the turnout there is higher in many precincts than in the 2002 mid terms.

And as it happens, early voters tend to be motivated to turn out the current incumbents.

I think both states are very likely.
