12. Basically said their words were twisted
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 05:43 PM by Bush was AWOL
He said that all NBC said was that the troops never found the explosives. They (NBC) did not report anything that would dispute the original story.

David Gregory came on and said it was very telling that both sides consider this to be very important with the way they're handling it so far.

8. Take your time.
I can't bring myself to listen to Brokaw any more. I appreciate you doing it for us and giving us the report.

But so far, it sounds like they did an absurdly incompetent job reporting.

9. Pay Attention
MSN NBC is sticking to the truth and the reporter isn't taking the GOP talking points on it.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6323933 /

Reporter Lai Ling Jew, who was embedded with the Army’s 101st Airborne, Second Brigade, said Tuesday on MSNBC TV that the news team stayed at the Al-Qaqaa base for about 24 hours.

‘No move to secure the weapons’
“There wasn’t a search,” she said. “The mission that the brigade had was to get to Baghdad. That was more of a pit stop there for us. And, you know, the searching, I mean certainly some of the soldiers headed off on their own, looked through the bunkers just to look at the vast amount of ordnance lying around.

“But as far as we could tell, there was no move to secure the weapons, nothing to keep looters away.”

10. Brokaw denied Bush's claim that NBC said...
the explosives were *definitly* gone. Just that the reporter said they weren't there. :eyes:

13. Believe it or not this was on 2 hours ago on Court TV!
Edited on Tue Oct-26-04 05:43 PM by Clinton Crusader
LMAO! I was flipping around (news weary) and I stopped on Court TV and there it was on their ticker. NBC embed says weapons were def. there when they arrived, etc and no one even suggested or dicussed protecting it, etc.

Same story. How will Rovian spin this one, one wonders..

:kick:

14. The wording of the original story could be interpreted two ways.
Yesterday CNN was falling all over the GOP interpretation of the "story". Parroting the RNC/Drudge fictional talking points on the front page of their site as well. As if we needed more evidence CNN is crooked.
