Why have I never seen full-shot photos of these supposedly huge crowds
that bush has at campaign rallies?

I can find pictures of mind-bogglingly large Kerry rallies.

I can find pictures of bush standing behind a podium, sweating all his eyebrow pencil off, and people behind him and directly in front of him yelling out corrections to his speeches, but I haven't found many panoramic shots of bush rallies.

I'm really not trying to be smart ass here, either. Where are they?

1. the rally in florida somewhere
that they were showing on cspan this weekend had quite a few people.
when they panned around though it looked like they kept the crowd in front and there was plenty of room for many more.

i was thinking if it was a kerry rally it would have been a lot fuller, and more enthusiastic...they seemed kind of subdued.

3. I mentioned yesterday (or the day before)
that the bush rally that I saw on CSPAN was embarrassingly tiny and lacking in energy! Here's all this drama, with the helicopter landing on the field in a stadium, and there's a little crowd of a few hundred people, waving their signs, and saying "Yeay bush, four more years..." And he comes strutting out of the helicopter, exposing his already sweaty armpits. :puke: NOTHING like the Kerry crowds that I've been part of or have seen on tv. I guess it's difficult to preapprove 10 to 15 thousand people for a rally!

4. I seriously think they bus some of those people in ...
Did you see the so called Bush rally in Florida this past weekend at a baseball stadium ( I believe it was a baseball stadium ) but no pictures of the entire crowd has been released from this event either . They only showed Shrub and Pickles walking onto the field . One shot to the side of Shrubbies ( Shrub supporters ) and that was it . With Kerry / Edwards rallies , you see people all around the bend for miles in the crowd . Not at Shrubbie rallies .

5. I've even looked on the bush website....
they are almost ALL upclose shots of bush or cheney.

Weird.

Also, if they really DID have barn burning, GINORMOUS rallies, those pictures would be all over the freaking place.

6. Which Brings Up An Interesting Question ....
Does anybody have any info on how people are vetted that attend a Bush rally. (i.e., how much in advance does the preparation begin? Who issues the tickets? Who screens the participants? Who enforces? (local police, security, and are they vetted as well), etc) Seems to me with all the running around the country Bush is doing he needs a big team of advance men to accomplish this.

7. From what I understand
(and no links for this, but I can do some research if you'd like) they DO have quite a huge group of people that do this. You have to get your tickets in advance and knowing someone who is a big fund-raiser for bushco helps. The preparation is WAY in advance. bushcheney 04 issues the tickets, of course.

They can't vet every security person there, but it USUALLY goes off without a hitch, again just from what I understand.

The problem is their crowds aren't as big as they would like and they usually bus in church groups, youth groups, etc from neighboring towns. Big cities don't have as much pull (supporter-wise) for bush but they have to meet (for logistical reasons) in big cities so they are forced with having to bring in groups from surrounding suburbs, rural areas to fill up those seats.

Or try to.

They are, in a word, pathetic.

This is what comes of walling yourself off for four years. bush couldn't go out into an unvetted crowd right now even if he wanted to. Too dangerous.
