Iowa resident Dale Ungerer, whose rambling, pro-Bush comments prompted Dean to order "You sit down!" said on Fox News last night that he was disappointed by Dean's reaction.

Ungerer acknowledged on Fox's Hannity and Colmes that he was a registered Republican and would vote for Bush in November.

We let the other side have its say. And today, the other side is represented by Talking Points reader Elliott Gorelick, who gives us his impressions of what he's read about the exchange:

"Some Bush supporter gets up and goes on and on for three minutes wasting everyone's time. He never intends to vote for Dean or any other Democratic candidate. Three minutes Dean allows him to go on. Finally, he wants to respond so he tells the guy to sit down. That makes him angry. You blithely ignore email all the time that takes less time to read than three minutes. Call me up on the phone and I'll give you a three minute screed about the Washington Post then see if you can tell me to shut up as POLITELY as Dean told that gentleman."

Well, excuse me, but if anybody had a so-called canned presentation, it was Ungerer. I wonder who loaded his gun before he fired it off.

How in the hell does a heckler merit a television appearance? This is media bullsh**, and we all know it!

That's not what I saw, when I saw it on C-SPAN.
Mr. Ungerer did seem to take a while to ask his question, but Dr. Dean didn't interrupt him. He started to respond and Mr. Ungerer tried to interrupt him. That's when Dr. Dean told Mr. Ungerer to "sit down".

I don't know if it did any good, but it made me feel better to try to do something about it.
