Here in Ga. early voting starts next Mon. 10/25, and yes, it's red!
But I'm still hoping! There has been a very hard registration drive in Ga., and a lot of people have moved here in the last 4 years.

5. Texas is very red, but
The counties with the highest early voter turn out are more Dem then the rest of the state.

4. NM started yesterday, long lines, record numbers for early voting
and lots of bitching about Bush in the line I was in when the election offical wasn't within earshot. Oh, and lots of questions about voting a straight ticket.

Shoot, if this keeps up, we may actually be rid of Heather Wilson (R-Harpy).

NM, as usual, is an island of sanity surrounded by states chock a block full of wingnuts.

I think if Bowles Wins, that will be a Kerry win.

23. Tennessee might be pink, but sadly, not likely to be blue
Voting here in Memphis is not as high apparently as in more Republican parts of the state.

26. Am told by a party insider
that according to the party's information, Dems are keeping pace with Reps in early voting so far. This has never been the case before. We have a huge field operation that's been pushing early voting this time.

If we stay even in early voting, it may be an indication that there could be an upset in the making here.

29. Turning AZ blue would be wonderful. I did my part.
Voted absentee from home, hoo boy, love the no excuses absentee voting here. I live near Ft. Huachuca and sometimes the area seems totally populated by * devotees. All the neighbors have B/C signs polluting their yards. And the majority of bumper stickers are pro-* Ugh. I have two Kerry/Edwards bumper stickers but it feels like a drop in the bucket around here. It's good to know we are holding our own in early voting. Thanks for the morale booster!!

28. I've never lived in PA, but I've seen contrary info. It may be wrong, but
it says people can vote early in PA either in person or absentee by mail. The catch is, a bit more paperwork is required than in other states. Punch in your zipcode at http://www.ezvote.org , or see http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x1127206

I phoned my local office and was told we have no early voting. What I meant by early voting was going in now and casting a vote, much like Florida.

15. Ohio - no - only absentee
...and absentee voting is not "open," you have to have a legitimate reason (elderly, handicapped, in hospital, out-of-town for business, etc.)

20. Oregon started 10/15, vote by mail...
they don't publicize voting results until after the polls close, though, but I have a very definite feeling Oregon is Blue this year, one (out of four) recent polls notwithstanding!

21. I assume you mean the Riley poll, it was bogus
It only had about a 400 count sample. I'd never even heard of them before. We have been blue for months now. That's why I feel safe going to Ohio to help them out there next week. - K

It had Bush up by 48-43 which was totally contrary to the others which show a safe 8-10 point lead for Kerry...
