If Bush Wins, Canada Will Benefit
I believe that not only will Canada see a surge of applicants for citizenship from the U.S., but that scientific research projects will favor Canada as well.

International corporations looking for a presence in North America may also prefer Canada over the U.S.

Agree or disagree?

2. Lots of early 20s males will be headed north...
It may skew their demographic, but they'll recover.

3. actually, it would even things out!

With the decline in births since the Baby Boom era, we're short of young people. Canada's population growth in the past couple of decades has mostly been due to immigration, and estimates are that we'd have to rely on a continued flow from other countries just to maintain our population at current levels (about 32 millions). Otherwise we'd be looking at a decline in a couple of decades, as the Boomers begin to die off.

Without young workers, we won't be able to afford to pay for pensions and health care for our rapidly-growing legions of elderly!

And also, there are more women than men in this country. In some areas it's quite noticeable. Not to make us sound desperate or anything, but I've been listening to my 20 and 30-something colleagues griping for years about how difficult it can be to meet someone.

6. Canada is a great place.
If super jerk wins, we may spend a lot of time visiting our daughter up there.
