Shit, with all this bad news coming out I don't see how Bush is even going to break the 40% mark.

2. Not so good.
It's going to get worse under Kerry. Nothing to do with who the President is, it's just that the price is going to continue to go up. I wouldn't want to tie cheap gas to Kerry's name. That would come back to bite you in the behind in 08.

4. not true

While peak oil may be true... in which case we can debate a date.... there's a LOT a president can do to lower the price of oil. Your claim is based upon the assumption that oil markets are not dysfunctional. They are. A drop of 1-2% of supply can easily cause a 10-20-30% price increase. Just the threat of terrorist disruption was estimated last spring to be a $10+ surcharge per barrel. Who knows what it is today.

When faced with a dysfunctional market back in 2000... where prices were spiking and there were historically low heating oil reserves, Clinton released oil from the Strategic Oil Reserve and prices dropped.

5. Maybe Bush will release some oil reserves soon.
The price will go down and all the fools across America will thank Bush.

7. this is why
Kerry has to get on top of this issue so it makes Bush look bad if he doesn't release oil and Kerry can take the credit if he does.
