NEWSEEEK POLL: Kerry leads Bush by 11 among independents
Edited on Sat Oct-16-04 12:28 PM by jefferson_dem
Thanks to lancdem for pointing this out in another thread.

Once again, they oversampled repukes. The major irrefutable finding in Newsweak's latest is that among idependents Kerry blew Chimp away (51 - 40)! With numbers like that, we will WIN!

1. So do we trust or NOT trust the Newsweek poll
I've heard both. Can't have it both ways.

6. Well, we trust that this is A poll. But look "inside" the numbers to get
the real story. The old saying "garbage in - garbage out" works. In this case, the overall horserace finding is certainly biased since they collected their data from an "invalid" sample.

Still, when you look inside this poll does has some very encouraging news for our side. The 11 point edge for Kerry among independents is GOOD NEWS indeed!

2. Also, by oversampling the Repubs, it shows that Bush has a FALSE LEAD.
Kerry is slightly ahead of Bush if you ajust the numbers to reflect the REAL ELECTORATE.

5. How Is It Possible Bushed Gained 8 Pts In Health Care?
Kerry also leads Bush in handling health care, including Medicare, 50 to 42 percent, an 8-point gain for Bush since the last NW poll?

9. The only way you could spin that is if people are now fooled into
the "government healthcare" myth that Chimp is trying to sell. Any objective observer knows that Kerry has dome much to dispel that myth in the past week or so. These numbers are fucked up!

12. BUSH IS TOAST
He won independents by 2 points in 2000,if he's losing by 11 thats a 13 point turnaround of 25-30% of the total vote=4-5% overall loss since 2000 assuming all else stays the same.
