2. Three points.
1. Chillaxe. That's Chill + Relaxe.

2. Electoral-vote.com clearly has problems such as using ONLY the most recent (and not most reliable) poll. It's not meant to be perfect.

3. The website owner and creator is a Democrat.

14. He established rules for himself at the beginning
and he doesn't cheat just to get his side ahead. That's definitely not republican.

The guy has stated clearly on numerous occasions in his summary that his system has obvious drawbacks. But the fact is, there is no perfect way to present that information that doesn't have that kind of problems. At least he is consistent and makes the parameters clear.

17. You display the same
attitude towards discourse and investigation as Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the whole right wing establishment.

Do you know who Charlie Cook is? I wasn't very familiar with him until a few days ago when I read an inteview the made me want to know more. In the old days I listened to Izzie Stone; after some investigation I think I'll start listening to Charlie Cook. He suggests that the ONLY way to get anything from polls is to average them and keep averaging them as time goes on. That's exactly what electoral-vote.com is doing. Try to keep up.

If you want your information slanted blindly in your direction, fed to you is nicely arranged little info bites and carefully insulated from what's going on in the world then go ahead and ignore sites like electoral-vote.com.

I prefer to keep my eyes open and look in all directions, not jsut between blinders I've willing put on.

5. It's run by a Democrat and attacked daily by the Republican hordes
The guy doesn't usually get attacks from Democrats. If you wan't more Republican polling sites, they are out there.

8. Prove it
And just because Fox says their Fair and Balance you probably believe that too.

He FAST posting of Stat. Visions polls show his true colors.

12. Be rational.
Just because a site posts numbers you don't like doesn't mean its a repug site.

The guy is honest. I've even talked to him once or twice. He's
fine. You don't like his methodology, fine...neither do I, but he's not dishonest and he's not a repug.

16. Have to agree

I don't understand what the gripe is about E-V.com

He just publishes the most recent polls, completely neutral as to the results they show. He has a specific formula in which the most recent poll -- and any margin of difference -- are represented in his total. He doesn't average, weight polls, etc. But that's not a bias. It removes any bias. Sometimes his numbers look great for Kerry, and sometimes not.

His commentary consistently reveals him as a democrat supporting Kerry, trying to be honest. I just don't understand why he's a target of derision. If you prefer to wear rose-colored glasses, there are other sites, such as our very own "truthisall," who never reports less than a 95 percent chance for Kerry, using a different objective approach. Or there's electionprojection.com, run by a self-proclaimed right wing religious republican and full of pro-Bush commentary, but which still uses a scrupulous mathematical formula and reports a different consensus because the formula is weighted differently. He gets attacked by republicans when his site shows Kerry leading.

These guys are doing us a service if they are honest about their methods. If anyone is convinced not to vote by an online poll aggregator, they probably shouldn't be voting in the first place.

The guy who runs E-V.com is a nice guy, serious about his mission to be unbiased, and to my sure knowledge a partisan democrat. He doesn't deserve the slap-down he gets here all the time.

18. He can not wait to get Stat. Vision lastest polls up
and I am not going to wait until Karl Rove start telling me to look at that site to see how well Bush is doing before I trash can the site.

6. How about Kerry 291?
Take a look at the electoral college projection map at the MyDD Blog.

That will make you feel better.

This blogger is pro-Kerry and uses only those polls that he has determined are weighted correctly.

His latest?
Kerry - 291
bush - 247

3. Welcome to DU Lilli!
As you have probably already noticed, we have people here who like to follow the poll numbers, and people who don't. Keep posting whatever you think might be of interest to others.

Enjoy!

11. I go to electoral-vote.com first thing every morning.
He is a Democrat and Kerry supporter who is trying to be impartial by not eliminating a poll just because he doesn't like the results. But he also points out which polls lean Republican and which he finds more believable in his discussions. I enjoy reading his comments and he provides great links to other articles and sites of interest. Since I can read and think critically, I can come to my own conclusions. This is the kind of nuance that Kerry uses that eludes most Republicans and, apparently, others as well.

Welcome to DU!

13. I think that site is worthless. Yesterday, it was Bush 328.
I mean, the numbers on that site fluctuate wildly from day to day.

19. Remember all, for Touchscreen Fraud to WORK
Most polls and sites like that one have to have Bush ahead or in a dead heat. By this site publishing Stat Visions BS polls, he is helping Karl Rove and the Touchscreen makers sit up for another stolen election.
