It has gone too far

I am sitting here still in shock. Perhaps I am over reacting. I hope so. Here is the story.
Tonight, we took my daughter out for her 20th birthday. Being one of those people who always picks up little free papers, I got a copy of "Life in the Ozarks" from the lobby of the restaraunt.
Inside this little paper, on page 28, there is the most slanderous crap about John Kerry that I have ever seen. I have been lucky - I haven't seen any of the swift boat stuff - so I don't know if this is connected or not.

It appears in the paper looking like an article. The title is "What Do You Think". It is written by David C. Byers, Major, U.S. Army, Retired. Across the bottom of the page is this note "This commentary has been paid for by Ms. Margaret Gryzbowski a widow who is very highly concerned about her safety, security and the affect that Mrs. Teresa Heinz Kerry would have on the women hood (sic) of this country if she becomes the first lady".

Folks, there are words in quotation marks in this article that are borderline insane and this author is attributing them to John Kerry. In other words, he is pretending John Kerry actually said them.

In my opinion, this person and his accomplice(sp?) (the person who paid for this) should be sued for slander. I think that I should scan this "article" into my computer and send it to the Kerry campaign. Who knows how many other "little" papers it has appeared in. Who at the campaign would be the best to alert on this. It is so alarming to me. It is such a dirty dirty thing. Seriously, I feel like I have just seen shit of the worst kind. And it shocks me. And it scares me. How many people are going to actually see this and believe it?

3. I get emails like this from coworkers all the time

Got one the other day about John Edwards, supposedly written by a former neighbor. Said all kinds of shit - like he rode his bike down the road giving everyone the finger - and even worse bullshit.

It used to be said that we had the most civil elections in the world - not any more! It's dishonorable and unAmerican. I hate how the conservatives have divided this country.

Rev. Irwin Baxter, Jr. of Richmond, Indiana (publisher of "Endtimes" magazine) is traveling the nation speaking to United Pentecostal churches claiming Kerry and Kofi Annan are doing the devil's bidding. I am sure such trash will be distributed by the Christian Coalition and fundies all over. Probably a waste of time converting the brainwashed this close to the election.
