Doctor watching debate thinks * may have had a stroke
Texas doc has a stroke over Bush's "drooping mouth"

After watching the third presidential debate Wednesday night, Dr. W. Kendall Tongier, M.D. of Dallas, Texas posted on the Dallas Morning News Web site about his concerns that the President may have had a stroke. The anesthesiologist, who has been in practice for 15 years, wrote: "Having watched the first two debates from start to finish, I was looking forward to listening to a spirited debate between Bush and Kerry. Unfortunately, I barely heard a word that was said. Instead, I found myself staring at and concentrating on the President's drooping mouth.

"As a physician and a professor, I tend to pick up on signs and symptoms of physical problems better than most other people. I am highly concerned with what I saw. The drooping left side of the President's face, his mouth and nasolabial fold (the crease in the face running from the nostril to the side of mouth) may be indicative of a recent stroke, TIA (transient ischemic attack)) or, possibly botox injections. I sincerely hope this was nothing more than botox injections.

8. Are presidents(sic) required by ethical
responsibility to the citizens of the US to have a physical every year? Hasn't every Prez since always..done this small thing for their Country?

2. I have wondered about that too.
But watching the asshole today, he looked fine.

Maybe he was overmedicated.

4. That's just what I thought, too, TIA's (transient ischemic attacks)
mini strokes or some kind of stroke.

6. And where is Drudge on this one? He's so fascinated with this stuff...
Kerry's tan, Kerry's alleged botox, etc.

But he's just a darker reflection of all media -- even when it comes to appearances, anything's okay when your a right-winger.

9. I think after his first debate
in which he made a damn fool out of himself (the transmitter failed for some reason and we saw the real idiot as he was) he was fed some meds . His second debate, obviously, he was overfed. They corrected the dosage by the third debate, but he exhibited signs of too much of it even as it was down dosed.

I think, and I do not put it past them, or him, to take meds in order to enhance these debates, that they simply screwed it up.

Do not forget--these types of meds were given to our pilots in order to enhance their performance and in order to stay alert for three days or more without sleep. It is not like they are unavailable to the CIC.

They will do anything to win this election.

I am convinced that he was taking a drug of some sort. His behavior is bizarre, hysterical and inappropriate.

10. I didn't notice mouth but I did notice his neck
Anyone else notice * looked like he had a 2nd mouth on his neck? Looked like he had had a tracheotomy. I was so distracted during his closing statement that I couldn't look at anything else. Looked like when people draw faces on their stomach's and use the belly button as a mouth. Hell, maybe he's just had too many face lifts and it WAS his belly button!

11. My wife keeps saying to me that Bush has some serious medical problems
And if you look at videotape of him from 2000, even the untrained eye can see a marked difference in the man.

13. If the heart diagnosis is correct, I'd like to know more about the timing.
I thought it quite interesting that the right wing is trying to change the hierarchy of succession from Speaker of the House to the Cabinet.

I agree that he has changed - everyone is attributing it to personality and core human attributes.

I still say that, in the end, he is a marionette. If his position wasn't originally designed to be so important, we could say that they are experimenting with marionette shows.

What is tragic is that all the focus of attention is on the President while the operatives do their thing - in the pentagon, especially. Give away contracts to friends, allow money to be stolen, permit prison abuse, cheat the soldiers.

15. Good post, Cat Woman
Bushy has always been a throw-away. "They" and you know who, don't care if he implodes, explodes, melts. They need him as long as they need him and then they trow him away. (I think perhaps he is more fragile than they ever considered he might be, however.)

16. Suspect Botox and Goofball Cocktail (speed and tranks)
The speculation on Bush's drooling and slack-jawed appearance during the third debate has ranged from stroke to bell's palsy to drugs.

My suspicions are that he was given an "anti-smirk"/performance-boosting/damage-control regimen. I postulate that this consisted of Botox injections (to prevent smirking), amphetamines (to increase alertness and mental responsiveness) and tranquilizers (to prevent another "Furious George" moment).

The speed/trank combo used to be called a "goofball". The tranks used in Bush's goofball could have been anti-psychotics, known as "major tranquilizers". I suspect that anti-psychotics were chosen rather than benzodiazapines because the latter are known to cause cognitive dullness, something Bush is already plagued with.

So together the Botox, speed, and tranks explain all of Bush's behaviors:

- the Botox kept the smirking (which Bush cannot voluntarily control) to a minimum;

- the amphetamines sharpened his mental performance, which accounts for the fact that he was not nearly as dull and clueless as he was during the first debate;

- the anti-psychotics prevented another rage outburst, and kept him calm while he was being criticized. He is not used to being criticized, and cannot usually remain calm when it is happening. The anti-psychotics also account for the drooling, the drooping mouth, the facial tics, the odd tongue movements, etc.
