2. Zogby Is The Man
who had Rick Lazio beating Hillary Clinton...

who had Gore ahead by one point in Cali the weekend before Election 00....

who called Al Gore Al Bore on The Beltway Boys during Election 00...

who was Rush's favorite pollster during the Lewinsky brouhaha because his polls "showed" Clinton wasn't as popular as the other polls suggest

who had Dean within striking distance of Kerry the weekend before the New Hampshire primarry...

who Rove said to watch his polls after the third debate...

J'accuse...

6. also the most accurate pollster in 2000
and generally in this campaign has had the race close. One bad day of tracking polling and people around here become unglued. A week ago Zogby had Kerry up by 3 and he was celebrated on DU. Tomorrow when he has Kerry closing again he will be ok.

7. Zogby is also the ONLY pollster who predicted Kerry winning Iowa.
And the pollster who came closest to predicting the virtual tie between Gore & Bush in 2000.

We have to look at the whole picture. Zogby has been proven to be reliable, I'm sorry to say (today). But I might not be sorry to say that tomorrow, if the results are different.

17. Rove said to watch his #'s because...
He reverse engineered Zogby's numbers and figured out there was a a bush blip on Monday/Tuesday in Zogby's numbers...he also knew that a significant Kerry # would roll off the moving average, so it was a safe bet Bush would take the lead yesterday or today.

But I could have told you that too. It doesn't mean I'm in league with Rove. Nor is Zogby.

5. Zogby INTERACTIVE is different from the regular phone polling!
Two different things!

The polls we see put out by Zogby as official polls are telephone polls, like other pollsters'.

The ones from the online surveys are called "Interactive" surveys or polls.

They are two different things.

The Zogby INTERACTIVE survey shows KERRY with more EVs. And always has. Why? I'm guessing that more Dems use the Internet and do those surveys.

11. I Rather Have A Beer With Clinton, Edwards, Or Kerry
All three would be fun in different ways...

Bush would end up getting drunk, giving the waitress a wedgie, and getting us thrown out of the place....

Look at my post on Zogby...

8. Every pollster gets and outlier day. Wait two days and see if the Zogby
numbers go back. If so, then there must have been one day of polling with 53% for Bush. That would mess up a couple days of polling in a tracking poll.

12. Is it true that WaPo is a 4 day rolling average?
And that ABC is a 3 day rolling average with the same data and different LV models?

I really don't discount Zogby's national numbers so easily, but I'll F the Interactive garbage all day.

13. WAPO on Mary Cheney...
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A36114-2004Oct15.html

Poll Shows Disapproval of Reference to Cheney's Daughter

An overwhelming majority of voters believe it was wrong for Democratic nominee John F. Kerry to have mentioned in Wednesday's presidential debate that Vice President Cheney's daughter was a lesbian, according to the latest Washington Post tracking survey.

Nearly two in three likely voters -- 64 percent -- said Kerry's comment was "inappropriate," including more than four in 10 of his own supporters and half of all swing voters. A third -- 33 percent -- thought the remark was appropriate.

16. Relax people - Zogby and WP polls basically saying the same thing.
Tomorrow the WP might have Bush up a couple of points and Zogby might have it tied.
Then what are you going to say? - in fact this happened last week and everyone was praising Zogby and trashing the WP poll.

The national polls are tied. Kerry appears to be leading with more electoral votes and with a better shot at going over 270 than Bush if election were held today, imo.
