Good News! A "Fundie" liked the Kerry sign in my truck.
I teach school in suburban St. Paul. Everyday I park at the end of the lot, near the driveway and put my "Kerry-Edwards/The Real Deal" sign in my window so anyone arriving at school has to see it.

Today a student of a "Fundie" parent said that her mother liked the sign in my truck. Could have knocked me over with a straw! I thought she was in Bushes* pocket.

Election day could bring some great surprises.

Note: Hope that everyone is parking strategically and putting the signs in the windows.

1. Yeah. Not that it will help deep in south Texas.
It's probably going to be a 57% to 42% Bush finale here.

2. I been in Austin. I would think that Austin would be a pretty liberal town
with all the music and the university. Kerry should do well there, right?

5. Kerry will do great in Austin!
Probably fine in Houston and a few other places also. But so many people in Tx live in rural areas, and they tend to vote R or at least very conservatively.

I do know of many conservative R's that are not voting for Bush. I've heard them call him a warmongerer and a spoiled rich kid with a big line of credit, our budget, and they don't like him. But the last polls I saw had him at 60%.

3. Nice story...
I won't put any kind of stickers on the outside of my truck. Instead, I have 4 bumper stickers(2 per side) seated in the weather stripping of both rear side windows. They seem to attract attention because they appear to run together, looking like one long strip.

This morning, a woman at a McD's drive through asked me about them. I told her they were just regular bumper stickers from kerrygear.com and I asked her if she wanted some.

Fortunately, I have a glove compartment full of buttons and stickers for just such an occasion and I handed her a stack of them. She actually tried to pay me for them, but I just shook my head no. What a smile I got! I had such a good morning...

4. Good for you - that was a very nice gesture. I've given a
couple away. yesterday I was having my car washed and had on my Kerry t-shirt. A man waiting for his car read my shirt and kept looking at me. He looked like your everyday rich Republican, and I just knew any minute he was going to get in my face. He didn't, but when his car was ready I followed him with my eyes, and, sure enough, on his bumper was a KERRY/EDWARDS sticker as big as Dallas. I felt a little like a smuck for deciding I knew what a Republican looked like. Ya just never know.
