2. More
"Buggy and horse days" ( referring to America's medical profession)
Two questions later it was "the best in the world"

The whiney..... three year old that stamped his foot and said,
"Mc Cain is with me" (after Kerry said they worked well together in the past and will continue when Kerry is president).

3. said some weird things about medicine & IT
"Thirdly, one of the reasons why there's still (still? STILL??? what was it going down and I didn't notice?) high cost in medicine is because this is -- they don't use any information technology (umm, like CAT scans, EKGs, medical databases; no they don’t use those at all). It's like if you looked at the -- it's the equivalent of the buggy and horse days, compared to other industries here in America (no comment). "

"And so, we've got to introduce high technology into health care (maybe some internets?). We're beginning to do it ( we’ve already got ONE!). We're changing the language (wait, I thought we were talking about medical care -). We want there to be electronic medical records (I guess they haven’t got these yet in Crawford) to cut down on error (because electronic records are never in error), as well as reduce cost. People tell me that when the health-care field is fully integrated with information technology, it'll wring some 20 percent of the cost out of the system (people? what people? some guys on the street? I mean, who is he talking about? Unless 20% + of healthcare costs are pure admin then where is IT gonna help? Robot nurses? Or maybe he’s talking about using computers to help develop drugs a zillion times faster than the human scientist – oh wait, they already do that).

6. I truly don't understand why nobody calls him on that ...
Because by refusing to appoint what he sees as 'activist' judges for the liberal side, he is saying he will only appoint judges who abide by his narrow view of the Constitution - 'activist' in their own right but to the opposite extreme.

:wtf:

:hippie:

7. Maybe we're talking about offshoring.
Yep. Those claims processing people in Bangalore work cheap - and they're so much better at fucking up your claims, too.

10. As a hospital employee, I was amused
Yes, we dream of each doctor having a palm pilot type thing that would allow them to look up medical information, access records, etc. But how exactly this would save money is beyond me. You'd still need a staff to manage it. You'd still need servers and people to manage them. You'd have to pay for all these new devices. And you'd have to worry a great deal about security since the new privacy laws hold us personally accountable if information is misused or misdirected. That's right ... if I somehow inadvertantly revealed personal info I could be personally fined $10,000.

I don't know how to save healthcare, but I do know that Bush has no idea how to do it either. He doesn't know anything about our daily problems.

8. "the buggy and horse days"
My sweetly cynical girlfriend had me rolling on the floor when Bush uttered that remark and, without missing a beat, she said, "That's putting the cart before the horse."

11. Thanks for ....
.... the LOL :)

I swear, I was telling my wife as we watched the debate, I don't know whether to despise Bush* or pity him. He just seemed so pathetic.

His face was a grimace twisted into a cockeyed smile. The man is clearly in great pain.

Don't get me wrong, I loathe Bush*'s actions as president. But sometimes he just looks like a scared little pawn to me, and on some level I just feel sorry for him.

"The borders are much better protected today than when I was governor of Texas."
