Bush Leads Kerry By 23 Points...
... In Texas Poll

http://www.click2houston.com/politics/3803658/detail.html

60 Percent Of Texans Choose Bush

POSTED: 3:28 pm CDT October 12, 2004
UPDATED: 3:55 pm CDT October 12, 2004

HOUSTON -- Three weeks before Election Day, President George W. Bush has widened his lead in his home state over Sen. John Kerry in an exclusive statewide poll, Local 2 reported Tuesday.

The Local 2 Flashpoll conducted by SurveyUSA asked 598 people across Texas, "If the election for president of the United States were today and you were standing in the voting booth right now, whom would you vote for?" The choices were Republican President George W. Bush, Democratic Sen. John Kerry or another candidate.

Sixty percent responded that they would vote for Bush, and 37 percent chose Kerry. Two percent answered "other," and 1 percent were undecided

the majority of Texans are ignorant assholes.

2. 598 people polled, that is not a survey, that is a canvass of
the RW.
The numbers are probably, although not reported as such, internal canvassing numbers for the GOP in Texass.

4. Well, if he's good enough for Texas
he should be good enough for the rest of us.

He reminds me EXACTLY of the Rock Hudson character in the movie Giant, and Laura is JUST LIKE Liz Taylor.

except: * doesn't ride a horse and..well, the Rock Hudson comparison could be apt. When did George choose?

LOL.

6. Liz T. had her own mind
For the most part, her character in "Giant" was fiesty and independent. Not like Stepford Wife Laura. :)

yused to say that we should have kept X from the Union after the Civil War. It is a different country anyway...always was. That's not to denigrate the populus, but they see themselves that way. I would say in England that I was an American, they'll say that they're Texans.

11. Probably should have drawn the border at
the Colorado River, not the Rio Grande. Of course, that would mean I was living in Mexico right now.

7. Quit scaring me!
When I first read the header, I thought this was the result of an overnight poll.

"O gawd," thought I, "the electorate has gone out of its fucking mind."

Then I found out it's just Texas, and just 600 of them.

BTW, what do we know about SurveyUSA? How Repug are they?

9. Survey USA is one of the most biased pollsters
Most of their results for the swing states have Bush leading , whilst in the same states , most of the other polls have Kerry leading . Survey USA always seem to add on about 5 points for Bush .

12. "We polled 600 people coming out of Wednesday night
prayer service across Texas..."

I don't care if it is 51-49 or 60-37. Bush was always going to get these electoral votes. BFD on that poll.

16. What about the brave 40%
Edited on Thu Oct-14-04 07:31 AM by OKNancy
Think about all the wonderful Texans in the 35-40% who are standing up and NOT voting Bush. In sheer numbers...that's a lot of people.
More people are voting for Kerry in Texas than are voting for Kerry in Massachusetts. Think of it that way.

( Okay, I know it doesn't mean much, but still...we have a lot of great Texas DUers! )
