One Disappointment From Last Night's Debate...
Let me preface this by saying I thought Kerry really pinned Bush to the mat in last night's debate. Unlike Bush, John actually answered the questions! That being said...

I wish Kerry would have slammed Bush hard on his smears of Ted Kennedy. Since when has invoking the name of Kennedy been used as an insult in this country? The Massachusetts Kennedys have given us some of the greatest public servants this nation of ours has ever known!!

I say to the folks in the great state of Massachusetts -- THANK YOU! You really are the home of the patriots!

1. Bush slammed himself.
Ted Kennedy and I have done some great work on education....er, even though I know he's a pinko commie bastard. And John Kerry's even more liberal than Ted Kennedy! Ack! Lock your doors!

2. I think
that if he'd reacted too strongly they would have said that Bush had put him on the defensive with the Kennedy comments, and then the pundits would have been discussing it even more. I think he was trying to stay more on the offense.

He probably just decided to let it go since they're only using that tact because none of the others have worked. It's obvious that they are going back to something Republicans used years ago.

4. I AGREE
And even though it is satisfying for us to watch Kerry slam Bush, maybe Kerry wants to let that pass in order not to make it into a big deal and more memorable for the so called "Undecideds."

3. Yeah, I think that Bush was baiting him.
Given his use of Kennedy's name in debate 2, ole Karl must have given him a zinger to remember.

5. I think most people think debates should be like TV shows.
I think Kerry does debate a subject and Bush sort of did something else in most of these debates. Bush seems not to like to have people talk back. He knows he is right.

6. Bush came across as a stupid, petty, name calling punk.
Like you, I wish Kerry would have responded by calling bush out on his pettiness. However, I don't think anything was lost by him not doing so.
