Tonight's Baseball games--that takes care of the stupid white men
..so who will watch the debates except the cheering section of both parties??? I personally think that the whole ball of wax was that first debate that the Bush handlers thought the idiot (they forgot he was an idiot) would win. That's why they have scheduled all these other debates for lousy times. In other words, there won't be enough watching to save this cockroaches ass. The women and scared seniors who watch tonight should just about file away GWB for good. He needs a bunch of stupid white men to offset the after debate polls and they are all watching the games. Personally, after waiting almost 4 years for this and this being the debate where Kerry really can kill him on the facts, I will have to go back and forth between the Soxs and the debates. Figure I will listen to Kerry and when that whinning, girlie-boy cheerleader, panty waist, reject talks, I'll see how my Boston Red Sox are doing. And I bet Kerry would rather be watching than having to put up with that whinny, girlie-boy cheerleader, panty waist, reject. Sorry, John...somebody has to stay behind and bury the road kill.

22. tivo is the best thing to happen to tv since color
it's easy to use. you just pick the shows from a list that you like and it records every one of them everytime there's one on you haven't seen yet.

it's basically a modern vcr, but it programs itself and you never have to fastforward or rewind, or even change a tape.

when you're watching tv (both things you recorded AND things on right now), you can pause the tv. go get a snack, unpause, right where you left off. miss what was said? hit the instant replay button and it jumps back 8 seconds.

it's GREAT

you'll notice that you never watch commericals because you can skip through a commercial break in about 2-5 seconds.

and when you come home and are tired and just want to relax, instead of the old way (flipping around and finding the least bad thing on) you do it the tivo way -- you pick from a big list of shows YOU LIKE that are on whenever you want.

i love my tivo

6. Anyone can watch the repeat on c-span later
And although I have no dog in this fight (other than hating the Yankees), any so-called Red Sox fan who doesn't watch this game is no real fan. So there.

:P

23. Female sports fan, too
And if any of my teams were in the playoffs, someone would have to be on their deathbed to interfere with my watching the game.

I'm a Ranger Hockey fan, so I understand Red Sox fans all too well! Good Luck! :)

(It will be a Kerry smackdown, anyways)

Football is hardly simpler. It just hasn't been romanticized by the literary class.

15. The people who watch the debates are likely to have already decided
The undecideds are the ones who are not as interested and engaged in the process. How the media covers the debate afterward will be more influential with them.

17. Longhorn--so go watch the people my Sox will beat in the
World Series. I'll try to multi-task but the TV's are in other rooms from the computer. So I think I'll now jump in the shower, put on my jammies, and watch an execution-----hopefully the execution will be both in the game and in the debates. I want TWO big wins tonight. GO BOSTON GO BOSTON'S FAVORITE SON......

Kerry could wipe Bush and watch Sox game simultaneously, if only the rules allowed.

21. white guys are not the only baseball fans - it is far more diverse
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 07:07 PM by secular_warrior
The latin and asian communities absolutely love baseball - it is their favorite sport. I believe about half of the players are minorities. A major portion of baseball's fanbase are the ethnic neighborhoods of the major cities, like NY and Boston.

IMO, baseball is the most diverse of any of the big four sports, and is truly reflective of America.
