Well folks, here is what were up against.
While listening to a talkshow today, a guy calls in and says that he saw John Kerry on his bike and he wasn't wearing a helmet. He asks how can he keep this country safe when he doesn't even wear a helmet. Then he said that he saw George Bush working in his shop and he was wearing safety glasses. He can't figure out why someone would vote for Kerry. I am not making this up.

It was a right-wing radio show and I really believe he was serious.
I am embarrassed to admit that I live in the same country as that man. No wonder we lost in 2000. WTF is wrong with PEOPLE?....

1. I doubt seriously he saw Kerry riding a bike without a helmet...
this is typical right-wing bullshit. They create a lie to justify their distorted reality.

14. Actually he took a short ride without his helmet today. But sheesh
who gives a rip? Bush needs a helmet just to walk judging from the number of falls he's taken in recent months. ;)

5. He had the helmet hanging from the brake lever before he took off
He was doing a few circles for the press while he waiting for the secret service and all to get ready to go. He had not even started his ride yet. Another shot of him returning clearly showed the same helmet on his head.

Do they REALLY believe he would ride around with the helmet dangling from the brake lever?

Not voting for someone because he had not put his helmet on yet? Is that really the deciding issue for the undecided voter? Let's hope not.

10. Helmet or not.
Would you decide a life changing event such as the election based on that? I am thinking that * supporters are real worried. They know * doesn't have a leg to stand on. That guy is just a kool-aid salesman. The sad part is, he probably convinced someone to vote for dimwit.

12. It gets better
there was a thread on FreeRepublic making fun of the velcro shoes he wore on his bike-ride, insinuating he was too dumb to tie his shoes.

Luckily, a few bicyclists chimed in that laces on a bike ride are a bad idea.

18. In Florida
we had a law that motorcycles drivers and riders had to wear helmets......but the law was reversed..........how about that.Per Jebbie

Florida's Helmet Law - Recent History

July 2000

As of 12:01 AM on July 01, 2000, Florida became the 30th state to allow motorcyclists to ride without a helmet. However, the amendment to HB1911 is far from a repeal of the helmet law but rather a modification of s.316.211. HB1911 was signed into law by Governor Jeb Bush on June 16, 2000.

See that shit don't fly..........
