6. He won't say what he has been told
by the repukes, but it was bad enough that he would NOT take his own children to Washington D.C. and will not leave his staff there to be harmed. He advises that NO ONE visit capital hill between now and the election. :scared:

22. EXACTLY. Dayton's throwing it in the Repubs' faces.
Dayton's no fool. I think he's doing it for the media attention, IMHO. He's been beating the crap outta Dubya on the war/terrorism thing since MN's other senator died in that awful plane crash two years ago.

Mark gave one helluva speech at the MN DFL convention in May against the "war on terra". He knows EXACTLY what kind of press this will get, and how it will expose the Repubs as the hypocrites they really are.

GO MARK GO!!! I'm glad your MY SENATOR!!!!

If I had business in D.C in the capital or elsewhere, I'd be there. This is like saying, "I can't tell you why, but you better vote for bush*."

I just saw him on tv and he said he wouldn't reccomend anyone visiting congressional offices. He's a fucking nutcase. Not one other senator has even mentioned such a move.

21. Bad form spanone. You don't know Sen Dayton - he's a stand up guy
and one of the, if not the most liberal/progressive senator we have - someone like Paul Wellstone, his good friend. He will tell it like it is and get in anyone's face - like Rumsfeld's on more than one occasion.

Sounds to me like Frist is screwing around with national security info and Dayton is calling him on it.

Check out Sen Dayton's (MN) record and who he is before you post reactionary impressions from CNN, of all places.

Here's his bio:

25. Just wondering
We have heard from other pugs on this, sorry, just can't use any other word for the "R", but I've not heard any Democrats say anything? Where are the Democrats concerns or disagreements?

Something is not right.

The Dems are quiet, except Dayton, and the repukes are screaming foul. I think Mark is trying to call them on some bullshit terrorism warning he was given. I don't know. I trust he is doing the right thing.

29. Mark Dayton

has become the first U.S. senator to challenge the rush to consensus that "The 9/11 Commission Report" settles the open questions of Sept. 11, 2001.

In hearings last Friday, Sen. Dayton (D-MN) raised an obvious point: if the timeline of air defense response as promoted in the Kean Commission's best-selling book is correct, then the timeline presented repeatedly by NORAD during the last two years was completely wrong. Yet now no one at NORAD is willing to comment on their own timeline!

When the official story of 9/11 can be changed repeatedly without anyone ever being held accountable, we have no right to ever again expect honest government. Please read the following story and do your part to support Sen. Dayton for highlighting the contradiction, and to encourage the media to follow up."

30. Yes, I saw that and immediately wondered
if he would stop traveling by plane. This has me very concerned, it is not a terrorist attack he is worried about, not from Al Queda operatives, anyway.

31. This is great in a sense. Not great that there is a threat but look at it
this way, if something does happen he can legitimately say that something was known and nothing was done. They knew and did nothing, just like 9 11.
