This Sinclair thing is the last stand of the "Suits" vs. the "Hippies"

That is the big picture here.

I heard (Hannity/Beck/Gallagher?) RW radio start in on this when it was apparent that Kerry was indeed the front runner. The RW has gone away from this a bit but the seed has been planted and they are going to shine the light back on it and let it flower with their main bases.

Fundamentalists and big business-hippies represent free love and socialism in their eyes. See hippies are responsible for lifting the veil of religion from many people's eyes and morals went out the window as they see it.

See Kerry is the worst kind of hippie to them-one of them who turned and didn't keep his mouth shut and collect the checks.

They are going to go into full scare mode to convince their base (and non hippies of the time) that THEY are going to take over if Kerry is elected. This is part of the attacks on Clinton and, by association, Gore but Kerry is the worst of the worst in Hippiedom as far as the RW is concerned. Bush represents the old standards to them and if he loses they fear the whole system will break down.

That is the big picture here.
