Mini Manifesto
I've been dreading to say this, as perhaps sounding like either an apocalyptic kook or someone who fashions hats out of tinfoil; but IMO if Bush does win we may very well be looking at the last unfulfilled condition to Armageddon. Unfulfilled but ready and waiting: the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.

And with the rogue states, the al Qaida terrorists & other terrorists we've created from this farce of the past 18 months; with PNAC's unequivocal attachment, dare I say fawning, to the Likud (hard line) party in Israel; we may well be set up on all sides for tragedy.

And fast.

What has to happen in order for the temple to be rebuilt?
Well now... they need that pesky, 3rd-favorite Muslim shrine The Dome of the Rock & it's Al-Aqsa Mosque, complete with its own hadj; to just clear right out! Tear that sucker down & get to building!

But how could that possibly happen?
I'll tell you how... only by a true and global genocide -- getting rid of all the Muslims in the world. Or most of them anyhow, then having big bad brother the US of A with all its 'nookular' weapons guard Jerusalem while they tear the holy shrine of Islam down and erect that neat new Temple!

And if GW Bush wins the election again... well then, I'm truly afriad it's out of our hands -- it's in the hands of God.
But until that time I for one am NOT going to GIVE UP THE FIGHT! I want my nieces to live a long and happy life. I want my lovely puppy to frisk & play without us having to, in future, EAT HER! LOL

We see in our own country the vicious hate engendered by these right-wingnut neo-con's. I wish I had a dollar for every time one of them have gleefully threatened to kill us Liberals, or 'put us in concentration camps'. And then the survivors (not of the TV reality show ilk!) can wage war against "Terror" or "terra", at this point either will suffice... only the face and body of this terror will just happen to be Muslim.

The Right-Wingers have been whipped up into a frenzy of hate and bloodlust by their multi-media, talk radio especially, just as in Rwanda their radio actually tracked fleeing Tutsi street-by-street and directed the attacking Hutu the best route to catch up with them and cut them off.
And cut them up. With machete's.
So many were killed and thrown into the river, one of the biggest lakes in the world Lake Victoria, became a misama of disease pollution.
Almost one million dead in 100 days.

What would be the impetus for this global genocide to come about?

A mere 2 things:

1) The appearance of separate species or hierarchy of human beings, one high above the rest, in their own minds, and everyone else wrong and evil, therefore unneeded, expendable and a 'waste' upon the resources of the earth. The permission their leader(s) give them coupled with easy propaganda the resultant action is inevitable.
In Rwanda they called the Tutsi *cockroaches*; in the US we've been called that and much worse - even 'Liberal' is a derogatory term and to many Right-wingers deserving of death!

2) The firm conviction that what they are doing is absolutely right. Approved by their very own, personal God who has selected them and only them as supreme beings. Therefore anyone NOT like them can and perhaps should be killed.
It's God's wish, you see...

Both these things are happening in the United States this very day, this very month, these past few years.

It would not near be a stretch of the imagination for those things to happen. The world said "Never again" after the Jewish Holocaust perpetrated by the Nazi's. In the past decade there has been more genocides popping up than any other time -- Rwanda, Sudan, Bosnia, Hercegovina, Chechynya, Iraq, Cambodia, Armenia (OK the last two a bit longer but still appropos). The Nazi's not only killed 6 million Jews, but killed 5 million more, a full 3 million native, non-Jewish Poles were shipped out with 3 million Jewish Poles. They were all tortured, murdered and reduced to ashes because they were 'substandard', 'subhuman', 'vermin' -- the list goes on and on. And sadly I know I've forgotten some, but I didn't forget Poland! :>
It didn't hurt that the lands belonging to these Poles was rich and fertile, perfect for a little liebensraum for the Chosen one's!

You've all seen the hate -- every one of you has at least seen it or even been on the recieving end. And invariably the response has been pretty much complacency, even as sheep to the slaughter.
And it still is to a great extent.

I don't want to knock this board, but the number of times I've seen responses saying "Whatever", the times I've seen initial fuss kicked up only for it to wind down (and quickly at that) and complacency kick back in again is troubling. Something IMPORTANT gets 'Kicked' for maybe 30 times max, and then given up upon.

Pardon me for being blunt, and I do not mean to denigrate anyone, but we really need to tuck our heads down and push harder than we ever have towards that looming finish line!

Is the purpose of DU pretty much to go vote at different polls and then poll internally or chat among ourselves -- preaching to the choir? I've seen maybe 20-30 people going to vote on a site and if doesn't change the stats right away it's just dropped! We think that a mere 30 votes can or should change an entire country of crazy Freepers?!

Isn't the purpose of DU to MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE?

I'm sorry, but I really do wonder about that at times, as much as I admire most of you & your true goodness, honesty, and sense of fair play; it still is troubling. And I'm getting old too. My half-life has been reached & passed long ago and, despite these words of passion, I cannot try to rally anybody by myself for long.

Wow, sorry about the soap box... but it's something that maybe needed to be said, and I can only hope good will come out of it!

Please do not take this as confrontation, if you feel that way I apologize upfront, personally, and immediately; that is not my intention -- but I AM pleading with my fellows to get more active in this dire time, in this home stretch!!

If your take is completely different I'd love to hear it! I try to be as open minded as I can...

*getting down off soap box now*
Please believe me that I do not wish to cause any affront or trouble, but to discuss this.

(This Manifesto has gone on so long I'm going to add it to my blog LOL It sure was 'hard werk' :)

1. If the F-wad wins..........
...........I'm moving to Costa Rica.. :hi:

I went there this summer to check it out (just in case I need to return)

Can't handle an America run by that man! I'll occassionally look at the "El Nacion" (San Jose's newspaper) to see how things are going..

But I CAN'T ... I WON'T... come back for at least 4 years!

3. Unfortunately, you are on to something
Such insanity can be self fulfilling. People who have led empty, angry lives are more than willing to take this road to Hell, as it allows them to be part of something bigger than themselves. I think that we should see this election as a watershed in American history. All of us have thought about what it would be like to live in the middle of great historical events. Well, THIS IS IT. I know it doesn't seem historic,or exciting, but it will. Participate for the best, but prepare for the worst. In the early 30's most germans thought that Germany was too smart, too cosmopolitan to degenerate into barberism. 5 years later they were participating in the debauchery with the same complacency.History devours those who are unprepared.

4. All rhetoric aside
Thanks for the well written thoughts.

I have more faith in the PEOPLE of this country than to share your fears. We Americans have shown that when it's time to go to work, we go to work, not for the benefit of one viewpoint, but towards a moral goal that is in some ways bred in us by virtue of the freedoms we enjoy.

I do NOT have that same faith in either major pol party.

We DO need to focus on the goal of putting our man in the WH on Nov 2, but to actually consider that not achieving that goal will in effect be the end of mankind as we know it is absurd. Just as absurd IMO, as the radical right's views that electing Kerry spells the end of American life due to increased terrorism. Both ideas seem to warn of the same horrible result. Whenever I see two opposites warning of the same result if we don't _____, then I am very suspect.

The Left feared this same general result in 2000, and we're still here. The Right went through similar gyrations and shakings for the 8 years that Bill was steering the ship. I tend to believe in my heart that we will survive this election outcome, no matter which way it winds up.
