Sinclair Response: To Stolen Honor

We welcome your comments regarding the upcoming special event featuring the topic of Americans held as prisoners of war in Vietnam. The program has not been videotaped and the exact format of this unscripted event has not been finalized. Characterizations regardings the content are premature and based on ill-informed sources. Massachusetts Senator John Kerry has been invited to participate. You can urge him to appear by calling his Washington, D.C. campaign headquarters at (202) 712-3000.You may call this station's parent company headquarters at (410) 568-1780 if you would like to make further comments on this matter. Thank you.

2. this is the standard Sinclair company line
It is a LIE because this is NOT a news event... it is a "documentary" that has already been produced and is available for purchase and viewing over the internet.

3. I've read elsewhere
that the film is in the can, that it's been around a while. I heard of Lou Dobbs that Kerry was asked if he wanted to air a rebuttal, but they didn't mention anything about equal time, or if Kerry's message would be edited in any way.

Personally, I think Kerry's folks should air something about Bush and what he did/didn't do in his youth.

5. I say John Kerry should not participate in this charade
Does anyone really think they would actually portray what he says accurately when the media doesn't do it on a daily basis?

7. This is crap.
The "special event" they refer to is a discussion after the showing of the propaganda film. Eeeew. They get lower and lower.

14. Before everyone gets mad
The reason why they didn't go on is they felt that if they were going to do this then they should give Kerry 90 minutes of free time. What you all can do is try to get the director of Going UpRiver to show his documentary as well.
