ST LOUIS, United States (AFP) - Former president Bill Clinton (news - web sites) is recovering well from heart surgery and advising the Democratic presidential campaign even as he recuperates, his wife said.
"He's doing so well. Every day he gets stronger and he walks further and he feels better," Senator Hillary Clinton (news - web sites) told CNN television.
Bill Clinton had heart by-pass surgery one month ago after being taken suddenly ill.
Hillary Clinton said her husband was already offering advice to the campaign of Democratic presidential contender John Kerry (news - web sites) and talking to voters, but would take doctors' advice on whether to get more active in the campaign.
"He's obviously on the phone, he's offering advice, he's talking to the campaign and to supporters across the country," she said.
