4. That plus it's also a huge gas guzzler
Like an Expedition or Suburban or a Hummer?

There was a great cartoon this weekend that will probably make the toon rounds here shortly, with a man filling up his huge gas guzzler while he explains that he "used to feel real guilty until he got his yellow 'I support our troops" ribbon for his car"

5. More often than not
they're driving an old POS which implies they have absolutely no economic reason to be voting for Bush... that is, unless they happen to be incredibly eccentric.

6. And from my unscientific experience from canvassing, crabby, selfish,
Hovel living, self satisfied assholes. The worse the house the more likely they are to support Chimpy. And I mean HOVELS, Shit piled up all over both inside and out, paint peeling, broken windows, looks like crack town.

7. I dunno
there was a big house near me that had at least six BC signs on their oppulent lawn,. Over the weekend, they opened a "shop" in their barn and were selling Christmas items.

When they had that sale, they took down all their BC signs. Ashamed? Or trying to make as much money as possible, which by the looks of their house, was nothing more than greed and manipulation.

Made me laugh.

8. They either have a scowl on their face,
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 08:10 PM by HughBeaumont
or have an 80s-hillbilly look and grunt to them, also as if they just ate an entire Ponderosa buffet at one sitting and need to shit. Secondly, they either drive really slow and clog the road (i.e. drive the exact same speed in the passing lane as the person next to them) or hyperfast without care.

K/E drivers are calm, smiling and seem more free spirited in their road demeanor.

Simple observation on a six-hour trip from Ohio to D.C. (which I'll be making again this weekend).

10. Most of the Bush* fanatics I know
like to be pissed off, and to be told it's okay to be selfish and egotistical. It doesn't matter their level of intellect or education -- and I know some educated people who seem to think his shit smells like candy, whatever the weather's like there on de Nile.

They're generally people who enjoy being told it's okay to be xenophobic, self-involved and greedy. Bush* tells them that's all okay, as long as they pray.

They think everybody who's different from them is trying to a) kill them, b) steal their money or c) make them feel inferior. They don't want to be told to feel guilty for being selfish, and Bush* makes that A-okay.

My input, anyway. They often have the social acculturation of a spoiled seven year old.

12. Most of the vehicles I've seen with W stickers have been SUVs.
The big ones, Excursions and Suburbans, that sort. And the drivers tend to look like they are in a perpetual state of road rage. They perceive that somebody (probably me, in my little old Saturn with the Kerry sticker) cut them off in traffic and they hate the world.

I didn't want to sterotype, but I've ONLY seen Smirky/Snarly stickers on gimungo SUVs and convertible sports cars, EXCEPT for ONE, which was on a broken down, old, piece of shit, station wagon.

22. SUV driver statistics
Yep, the majority are textbook Freepers:

According to market research conducted by the country's leading automakers, Bradsher reports, SUV buyers tend to be "insecure and vain. They are frequently nervous about their marriages and uncomfortable about parenthood. They often lack confidence in their driving skills. Above all, they are apt to be self-centered and self-absorbed, with little interest in their neighbors and communities. They are more restless, more sybaritic, and less social than most Americans are. They tend to like fine restaurants a lot more than off-road driving, seldom go to church and have limited interest in doing volunteer work to help others."

(not to insult the exceptional progressive SUV owners out there)

13. interesting..here, a repub. county and town where there are signs..
in the yards for the local and federal candidates of reps and senators...there aren't nearly as many Bush/Cheney signs in the same yards..This is a dominant message, I think...In the yards with the demos running (fewer) there ARE Kerry/Edwards signs so in the majority there are actually more to be seen...go figure ...this is good news for this county/town.

14. I'm keeping a tally of a**hole drivers
I started keeping a poll several months ago of really rude and self-centered drivers and what political stickers they have on their care.

Repuks lead Dems 7-4. Sadly, the worst driver of the lot had a car with Kucinich stickers. The most reckless and angry tho, are the drivers with big "W" stickers.

20. I saw an old rusty van this weekend
that was plastered with */Crashcart stickers. I was behind him on the freeway and there must have been 8-10 on the back of the vehicle alone. I noticed there was a sign on the vehicle so I pulled up behind it to read the sign. It was a "For Sale" sign and the guy was asking $1200 dollars. Hah! I moved over a couple of lanes and pulled ahead of him as I wanted to make sure he could see my anti-* stickers and my Kerry/Edwards sticker. He spotted them all right and oh man was he pissed! He tried to get around me on the lanes on either side but there wasn't any room so he was stuck. Eventually he pulled off and I continued on to my destination -- a rally with Kerry's daughters.

BTW, the entire van was plastered with */Crashcart stickers -- front, back, and sides. Who the heck is going to spend $1200 for a rusty old van plastered with those stickers? Please note that I'm not slagging anyone that owns a rusty old vehicle. I drive an old vehicle myself. I just have enough brains to know who I should support politically. He obviously didn't.
