Is Osama still the October Surprise?
Overheard in an office rumor mill: "So and so's cousin is in military intelligence, and told me that they know EXACTLY where Osama bin Laden is and are just waiting for the right time to go get him. It's all politics."

Who knows if any of these kind of rumors are true. Of course many of us have long thought something like this to be likely, but wouldn't it represent substantial risk to shrubco? If any information was able to be leaked out to prove that shrubco held back on capturing OBL to manipulate votes, thereby risking his escape, couldn't it be a potentially disastrous scandal for them?

I do realize a substantial number of shrub loving wingnuts expect exactly this kind of thing to be in the wings and apparently have no problem with it whatsoever.

2. The October Suprise...
I think they will say Laura is drinking, and they will need four more years to sober her up.

3. Whatever happened to the Kerry love child Drudge BS?
Remember that one? The girl was some intern in South Africa... I remember Drudge screaming bloody hell about "The Kerry campaign is IMPLODING!" Saying something is "imploding" is modus operandi for the freepers... that seems to be their meme du jour.

4. Probably Zarqawi (Here's Why)
They have talked this guy up incessantly, and had several opportunities to capture him even before the war. He has nothing like the connections and bank roll of Osama, in fact he has to deal with a highly factioned Iraqi people vying for power, while Osama has long been skilled at negotiating the smuggling trade across the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

I guess in the end does it really matter? Osama's a bad guy and killed 3000 or so Americans, but isn't one media-bogeyman the same as the next?

(sarcasm to be noted)

5. I doubt it.
If they had Osama, they'd be talking him up. As it stands right now, they're shying away from the name. They've only been forced to talk about it in the debates, and even then, they skirt around him to talk about Hussein.

The real October surprise? They'll reveal that Kerry was once a bed wetter.
