1. He should call in to the show right now
What's he waiting for?

2. This is the man that started the Paula Jones mess
when he mentioned, without naming names, the "incident" involving then Governor Clinton and his pimping Arkansas State troopers.

I fail to feel any empathy for Mr. Brock for all the grief he brought this country when he became part of the get Clinton crowd.

3. Have you read his book? I believe he redeemed himself to an extent..
..with the book.

9. He saw the light
he found his soul, and is now actively attempting to undo the damage he wrought. He's doing a good job of it too!

23. Book was good.... makes you wonder and shows you just how
gullible the American public really is. Medialize go a long way towards shaping reality.

4. Yes but, if you've followed him you know that he started Media Matters and
has changed his ways from the dark side. He is a regular guest on Franken

7. David has done much to atone for his sins
Media Matters is a great website and he's been very vocal and very active in calling on these media idiots to reform themselves. Cut him some slack. At least he's swung back over to the right side.

5. You don't believe in redemption?
Brock is one of the most effective people "we" have right now.
In my opinion.

15. Whose More Anti-Smoking Than An Ex-Smoker...
I don't know what David Brock could do to rehabilitate himself with some...and to a degree I can sympathize. If it wasn't for Brock's hit pieces, paid for by Scaiffe, Paula Jones would be still very ugly and unknown instead of very ugly and a has-been. But Brock didn't drive the story, he just wrote it. And that was 1995.

I've grown to appreciate his work on Medimatters. It's very concise and a very, very credible resource. It's what factcheck.org (is the .com still up??? LOL) wishes it could be.

6. He's redeeming himself.
I believe in the idea of redemption. Brock has realized the error of the ways and he's fighting the good fight now. I for one don't think we should shun him because of his dark days as a right-wing operative.

18. Perhaps I was too harsh on Brock
However, his Epiphany came as the result of the homophobia that he experienced in the GOP (what a surprise!) and not out of a personal conviction that his conservative views were wrong.

26. I don't believe that to be true... I think it is a combination of both....
Brock is a God-send to us right now.... Why we would want to piss on those who have come over to our side and are effectively aiding us in neutralizing the crap from the right, totally escapes me, but some appear determined to do so. (not targeted specifically at you, IG... just a generic thought from a number of recent DU posts)

27. That might have been the catalyst for change...
Edited on Mon Oct-11-04 01:37 PM by Borgnine
...but once he was awakened to that, everything else started to become clear. Brock was always very socially liberal, and I can sort of understand how he was gradually seduced by the dark side.

Maybe his work on our side hasn't yet equaled the mess he made for us, but he's trying, and I wish more Republicans could see the light.

29. "Perhaps"????
The response to your claim that Brock isn't with us led you to give ground, but you still can't admit you were so wrong in your first post in this thread.

At first, I doubted Brock's conversion, but it's several years later, and Brock has done a lot to redeem himself in that time. There's no "perhaps" about it.

Do you have ADD or something? Is there some reason that you can't focus on the fight at hand? I think what CNN just did is alot more important than your petty swipe and someone decrying what CNN did.

Not the entire debate. Who knows what he actually said. We just got a short snippet after the fact.
