It really does. Kerry looked real good. Busj looked frantic .

Kerry had control of the entire debate and played boosh like a fiddle.

1. I'm watching the debate again and MAN ALIVE you are RIGHT
I was neverous watching the first time around and felt Kerry easily beat Smirk but perhaps not a TKO. No, IN FACT, Kerry actually did knock out Smirk--AGAIN! It was a brilliant performance by Kerry that I appreciate much more the second time around once the pressure of the moment allows me to look at it more objectively.

Smirk came off as his usual "I don't care what anything thinks I'm KING self". I'm sure this is not lost on most Americans.

Bush you are so toast. Make moving plans for next January.

3. my take on 2nd run
Kerry really wants to win this election. He really wants to
put his plans into action and he's together, way together, he can do this.

I think he comes across better, period.

5. Totally agree
If you're a dumbass, you'll like Bush. But if you have a brain, it was no contest. Kerry used shock and awe on the Chimp, who looked confused and yelled like he was a pathetic liar....which is what he is.

6. I agree...
The second presidential debate of 2004 was once again the triumph of style over substance. The two candidates basically stuck to their rehearsed answers that most people have heard 1000 times or more. If substance were the sole measure of this debate, you would have to score it a draw. At least Bush was able to articulate something of an answer in this debate... Bush had all the personality of a chimpanzee who had been beaten soundly by a flipflop. He was all scream and attitude. He was very unpresidential.

Neither Bush or Kerry presented any new views. Nor, did they commit any terrible gaffes in terms of substance. Once again though, Bush's performance will leave America scratching its head and wondering which G.W. Bush will show for the 3rd debate.

On that point, Kerry clearly won.

8. IMHO, this series of debates...
... is the greatest ass-kicking I have ever witnessed on TV.

9. i agree, i think the reason we are more unsure the first viewing is
because we are trying to analyze what each candidate has said at the same time we are paying attention to what they will say. and we have all the things in our head about how this or that will be percieved. if you watch it again , Bush clearly looks out of control. Kerry comes off as very much in command and in control of himself. he is the type of person where in an emergency he would stay calm and quickly in his head decide what would be the best thing to do. the chimp looks like it would go crazy and be a danger to others.

11. on second watch, no doubt it was Kerry all the way
The "Food for Oil" rationale is so damning. In a national debate, almost two years into a war they started, they propose as a cause for war a line they, what, made up a couple days ago on the fly?

Unfucking believable.
