Belligerent Bush - Turning His Back to Charlie Gibson
That move speaks volumes as to the character or, rather, the lack thereof, of President Bush.

1. Shouting down Charlie Gibson was the defining moment
All spin could profitably rotate on that axis of bushEvil. He got as close to Hitler in his delivery as I have ever seen him when he yelled out "This is a GLOBAL CONFLIT that requires FIRM RESOLVE!!!" The unfortunate members of the audience whom Bush was facing at that moment were probably showered with Furher Spitum.

5. Tweety thought it was "strong"
says a lot about Tweety. He probably thinks he himself is "strong" when he shouts down people.

7. Like I told my fiancee...
Edited on Sat Oct-09-04 12:06 PM by opiate69
when she asked why Poland was pulling out of the coalition... this is how the man acts and talks in front of a nationally televised audience, when one would think he's trying to show some degree of restraint and decorum, imagine how he talks to heads of state when the cameras aren't rolling... scary shit, that..

9. He stormed off a lot
I noticed how he was turning his back to both Gibson and Kerry. Utter contempt for them. Even a degree of contempt for the audience. He at times TRIED to smile and be warm with them, and play at being "the charming guy everyone wants to have a beer with", but instead he was the angry King Louis IV, whirling around in his ermine robes.

I don't think anyone has brought this up yet -- but wasn't part of Mr Rove's strategy for His Chimperial Highness was to stress his "likeability" factor? I think a LOT of sane and semi-sane people were appalled at his behavior last night and a week ago. He is not likeable, not charming -- he's been an arrogant prick in public. No doubt this plays well to his base (The Coalitiion of the Crazed), but I have serious doubts that "normal" Americans -- not matter HOW afraid of terrorists they are -- are turning away from this guy. He's not the "Daddy" America needs. John Kerry on the other hand was smart, strong, confident, and very calm and steady. Yes -- character. Kerry has it. Bush just plays it on tv.
