3. Hey Fishy, what's up?
Anyone watching the store?

Got a kick out of Kerry lecturing Bush and leaning over in his face, making him smirk at least 2-3 times.

7. Yeah that one woman...
who said she hadn't had any real opinions either way blah blah but after tonight blah blah she felt one candidate had been more persuasive blah blah and she was turning more towards blah blah.... Bush :D

Undecideds are either a) stupid or b) too ashamed of admitting straight out who they're really going to vote for.

5. My late local news could only find one person who changed sides tonight
and it was a Bush supporter (white, middle aged, middle class) who decided he's now a Kerry supporter.

11. I met my first one yesterday
We had a chance to chat a bit. What surprised me was his level of hawkishness, he thinks invading Iraq was okay, but we should invade several other countries as well. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan .....

He said he'd be okay if a brother was killed in Iraq as long as one day they actually became a true democracy. He said that would be worthwhile. I said "yeah right".

Then he complained about the terrorists and how "those people" will kill their own, how awful they were, and how Iraq was full of terrorists before we invaded them. And that Saddam was "crazy" and typical right-wing stuff like that.

After all this I found it odd that he claimed to be "undecided".

12. not necessarily true . . .
there are people -- a LOT of people -- who just don't have the time or the inclination to pay close attention to politics the way we do here on DU . . . many work two jobs, are raising kids, and try to keep up on things by watching tv news and, maybe, reading the local paper now and then . . . a lot of them probably don't spend any time at all on the internet . . .

what these folks often are is confused . . . they get incomplete and distorted coverage from the tube and honestly may not know where the truth lies . . . they know that 9/11 happened, they're scared, and their government continuously tells them to remain scared . . . if they can't quite figure things out, it's as much the fault of the infotainment that passes for news as it is their own shortcomings, whatever they may be . . . these people are not necessarily stupid . . . they're being played by the corporate system, and they just don't know who or what to believe . . .
