Civilian Labor Force Drops by 2 Million Since July!

Notice those last three numbers? Those are the numbers, in thousands, of the civilian labor force for July, August, and September.

4. The unemployment rate isn't rather revealing...

it doesn't include people no longer looking for a job nor those no longer eligible for unemployment benefits.

8. I think the drop is due to summer employment
The summer labor force numbers are higher because of summer employment of college students, workers from overseas for your local pool, and so forth. In August, these students/other go back to school. However, if the economy is good, the growth in jobs often covers this "drop". Since the bush economy is not creating that many jobs, these numbers stand out like a sore thumb--or whole hand.
