my worries about this vanilla flavored debate
It isn't really one, to be honest.
Fixed moronic questions, no follow-ups, to be selected by someone as vanilla and bland as stale, white, flavorless, un-enriched, crust-less Wonder bread.

Unfortunately, that also happens to prefectly describe the mental and neurological working patterns of most of the far right electorate. So, both the questions and the Shrub will be in perfect synch.

My worry is that kerry will treat it seriously and offer real answers. Shrub will be his abnormal self.

1. If this is true...
my worry would be that if Kerry did give the answers...they wouldn't get it...but ...we had better presume that "some" level of intelligencia will be present...or it will head the way of Wonder Bread...bankrupt.

2. A lot of people bitched about the format of the first debate too
and it turned out to be killer.

3. This is the one debate of the three I won't be able to watch
and I figure it's the one I care the least about anyway, exactly because of the factors you mention.

I still hope to read detailed accounts here, though.

4. Ground has shifted
This WAS meant to be an easy wonder bread moment to finish off Kerry in the only way Shrub could in a positive way. Instead he still in surviving mode and must be an attack-distracter and sacrifice his natural advantages(ugh) while actually worrying about suppressing his emotional responses!

Cheney's failure with some of the tacks sacrificed his own advantages for a team defense.

This is Bush on the ropes and he can't really hope to cut it without help from Kerry. A totally different atmosphere than even the one they eventually agreed to risk under the negotiations.

I am sure the main complaints will be about how Kerry could have drawn more blood or gotten Bush more or not helped Bush really tank. Bush has extraordinary pressure going into the emasculated format. It could get weird again.

6. you got that right.
Do you think that Kerry wants to draw much blood, though? I'd rather have the shrub self-destruct.

5. I agree with your working patterns test-but if Kerry can make an impact
here, then the election will be his.
