How should Kerry respond to "You voted against the first Gulf War" charge?
I think he should say that a) his father green-lighted Saddam Hussein's invasion of Kuwait, b) there really was no exit strategy- and what did transpire led directly to al Qaeda.

1. This is actually a golden opportunity for Kerry.
He can say that he was reluctant to give that much authority to the president, but that Bush 41 was an honorable man and did not abuse the power Congress gave him. That is why he trusted Bush 43 to play by the same rules as his father. "I was wrong to trust the son."

It will rile Shrub because he hates to be reminded of his 'daddy' problems and it answers the question neatly.

2. Yessss
I'm sure that Kerry sees this one coming...probably has had it before.

Cheney used it the other night, but it had no effect apparently, but since Edwards didn't respond, I suspect Chimpy will bring it up again.

6. He Can Say That it Was Premature
and that almost half the Senate agreed with. Sadaam offered to withdraw under certain conditions. Those conditions should have been negotiated before an invasion was launched.

7. No, he should say
It's hard work being a senator and knowing which actions of the president I should or shouldn't vote for. I can tell you though that in my years in the senate I worked hard with all presidents to look out for the best interests of the country. Hard work and working hard is what John Kerry has always been about. I see my time is nearly up so let me just add, "Don't forget Poland."
