In fact, I'm going to try to post some home-made signs in Jacksonville on the weekend before the election.
I think that you have to consider who you need to target with the message. In Florida I'm targeting two groups: seniors and college kids. If you have a college campus nearby then the draft would be a good subject. For seniors (and others) I would target sky rocketing health care and medication costs.
Also, you need to include a positive call to action. This is essential. It makes your message seem less like whining and carping and gives the viewer some positive action that he/she can do to affect the problem.
Here's the messages that I've come up with:
Cancel Bush's draft. Vote Kerry!
Med Costs Killing You? Vote Kerry.
Stop the lies about Iraq. NO WMD. NO Bin Laden. Vote Kerry.
Vote Kerry--- keep American jobs in America.
Vote Kerry to Insure ALL American Kids' Healthcare
