9. It's to be expected
The big corporations who own the media are desperate for a Bush win so they can continue to get big tax cuts for sending our jobs to people in other countries.

10. This is the number of jobs added this month...
Does this number take into account how many jobs were lost this month? I saw reports of AT&T laying off about 5,000 people and other companies having layoffs as well.

15. GOP's favorite jobs report-household survey, shows 585000 jobs lost
Household Jobs show disaster-labor force drops 1 million, job loss of 585K

The GOP's favorite DOL jobs number, the Household survey number, shows bigger Job disaster than shown in the anemic 96,000 jobs gain in the payroll survey jobs number. The Household Survey reports 201,000 lost jobs in September since 139,681,000 were "seasonal adjusted" employed in Aug less 139,480,000 of Seasonal adjusted folks Employed in Sept., and that is a drop of 201,000 jobs. If you prefer numbers that are not seasonally adjusted, then 140,226,000 less 139,641,000, or 585,000 jobs were lost in Sept.

And that Steady 5.4% Unemployment rate is based on folks no longer being in the labor pool and therefore not counted as unemployed. The seasonal adjusted change is from 147,704,000 looking for work or employed in August to 147,483,000 looking for work or employed in Sept, or 221,000 folks dropped out. If you like non-seasonally adjusted numbers, then 148,166,000 less 147,186,000, or a huge 980,000 folks stopped looking for work or being employed in Sept.

NEARLY ONE MILLION FOLKS STOPPED LOOKING FOR WORK OR BEING EMPLOYED IN SEPTEMBER!!!!

16. Hemmer on CNN did have that...

"sigh", how in the f*ck do I spin this crap?" look for a few moments when the numbers came in at 8:30. Then Andy Serwer (who leans a bit Dem) tried to underplay the numbers a bit, but you could see he was radiating an "I'm trying to help the guy out here, 'cause these numbers blow!" aura as he softly spun things. Heidi-whats-her-face on AM tried to backspin hard for Bush when Gephardt came on and slammed the numbers, basically giving the Bush spin after every Gephardt verbal slash at the abysmal numbers.

The problem was, for days GOP spinners were alluding to a better than expected number ranging to a bit above to a possible 100,000 above the 150,000 needed just to break even. But an astute poster here on DU noted last night that the admin usually gets a heads up the day before and while not giving too much detail, start spinning rather positively the afternoon before. There was NO "fore"spin yesterday and the admin didn't even mention the report the poster noted.

And yeah, Kudlow was fairly spitting mad today on CNBC—especially after the capitalist tool spent all week goosing us for great numbers, well cooked. When the pot blew up in his face today, he was practically apoplectic, bleating about how the jobs numbers didn't reallly matter. Which begs the question—if they didn't matter, why were you waiting with bated breath for them and yakking about 'em all week long? Pity the poor, silly, psychedelic-tied freak.

Cavuto's "I got caught shtupping a girl in the last pew by the reverend, my mom and dad and can't talk my way out of it as I'm butt-naked, half-in and covered in sweat" look when HE gave the numbers?

Priceless. :)
