I can't wait to see Dubya* get his ass handed to him again tomorrow night
In the first debate, he was stupid and unprepared. Tomorrow, he'll be stupid, unprepared and *DRUGGED.* Quite a combination. Imagine Dubya* on drugs: no contact with reality; nothing he can do to overcome his horrible record; nothing he can do but thump his chest like an extra from the Planet of the Apes. The very best he can hope for is a draw, and frankly he's not going to get one.
He's gonna get spanked. Hard.

1. From your mouth, to God's ears. Kerry's got to STOMP him, now.

2. I hope the people chosen for the panel
ask some tough questions.

Kerry will be able to answer them & Shrub won t.

3. Me too, living for the moment
No matter what condition Shrub is in, on his best *sober* day he still is a moron. The fascinating thing about this election is to observe the contrast in character between the two. Shrub when directly challenged dissembles, shrinks, and acts petulant. Kerry only gets better the greater the challenge. Maybe that's why when the country came calling during the Vietnam War Shrub went running to daddy while Kerry signed up for action. It's all playing out again.

The below link might be of interest to some here. It's an interview with Karen Kwiatkowski, a recently retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel that was pulled into the war room of Shrub's chicken hawks prior to the invasion of Iraq...and she has some mighty interesting things to say about what was going on in the Bush Administration leading up to the war.

4. Debate 02
Here's what I keep thinking...

The media keep saying that he's really used to these "townhall style meetings"; that he's comfortable in that setting; that it "suits him".

>>> BUT <<<

What they seem to be forgetting, is that those are townhall gatherings in which the participants have been vetted to no end. Not only that, but the questions are extremely limited (if not pre-selected)

I'm not completely confident that he'll royally screw up again.. But if there was a time when he was good at answering questions "on the stump", he's definitely LOST that capability.

There's a good reason they don't let George out in public without monitors, Q-cards, and well-PREPARED speeches.

But.. we'll just have to wait and see I spose.. :smoke:

5. you just don't get it. Kerry was lucky. Bush is extremely strong
I wouldn't be surprised if the first debate wasn't a disaster on purpose to reset people's expectations much lower. He will BRING IT these next 2 debates and then Kerry will be in trouble.

Kerry had a few good points the other night, but he is by no means as skilled with the town hall style of meeting.

That's why these playoffs are best of 3 and--whahhh?? These aren't playoffs. But you get my drift. Kerry will barely hold on...but he'll stay intact for the final showdown next week wit Bob Sheiffer presiding

6. this is the wrong attitude to project
in the "expectations game"... Bush did so shitty last week that if he gets through the hour without a bunch of long pauses and funny grimmaces, he'll be considered the winner no matter what the substance is. His comparables aren't much to live up to, while many will "expect" Kerry to dominate again.

Though on the upside, everyone will be keying on Bush's flubs because of last week's performance, he may actually make himself a comedy of errors. The mindset of giving Bush any respect vanished largely after last week (of course it never existed with anyone here :)), so anything he does to reinforce that he's not very bright will stick out like a sore thumb.

7. out campaigning while Kerry is preparing
I read elsewhere on DU that our Dummy in Chief has been out campaigning instead of prepping for the debates. What does that tell you?

8. That bush is supremely confident of his ability to connect...
...with voters in an hour-long unchallenged rebuttal televised for free on all cable news channels five days after he loses a debate.
