Jake is now walking on the leash
I thought I had better start a new thread for various reasons.

Just wanted to share that, tonight, I put the harness on Jake for "practice", and, I forgot it was on him.

When I again thought about it, he was playing with Spidey, and didn't even seem to notice it was there.

So, I decided to put the leash on him and try him out in my very long hallway outside my apartment door.

He was out there for, I would guess, about five minutes, and, in the time he was out there, he (1) explored the laundry room, and (2) met someone coming off the elevator.

He also responded to "Ok, Jake, it is time to go", but, I think that the harness helped in this regard. It tends to lift the back legs a little when you tug gently, and I think that he was being guided without him really noticing that he was.

I love this harness!

I am very excited at the fact that he will be able to walk outside with me, and, I have to say that I think he is a very special little guy (he will be 10 mos on the 28th). He is pretty much fearless!

1. I am laughing so hard at myself
I was reading posts in the 9/11 forum, and forgot I was there when I decided to post my pet group topic.

Hey understanding moderators...could you please move this topic to the pet group?

I am so embarrassed.

Also, mods, we don't have a blushing smilie (we need one!).

Thanks again.

2. LOL... I was wondering...
But, what kind of harness is it, anyway, now that you brought it up?

17. Nope. It's staying here in the dungeon.

I suppose you could look at that in one of two ways:

1) DU as an entity wants to bury any mention of your cat's behaviors and accomplishments :tinfoilhat:, or

2) You've interjected one of the few sane posts this forum has seen and the mods are using you to make up for hundreds of nuts (also :tinfoilhat:, but significantly less so)...

...see what spending too much time here will do to you??

I think it is a mixture of 1 and 2, with an emphasis on 2.

what's so difficult with that? I've never used the ignore feature, but I'm tempted........

on edit: I trust you've 'alerted' on yourself as well.....as is, "mods, I have made an error, please move this...." Yes?

12. The mods are incredibly overworked on DU
Sometimes it takes them a while to get to something, especially when there's lots of fires to put out.

4. What is Jake?
A tarantula? You mentioned his hind legs, thats why I was wondering. Never seen a harness for a spider.

6. I guess we know where the 911 forum stands...
not that I don't love dogs, mind you. If I try to put a harness on my dog, she turns round and round in circles trying to get it off.

15. There is no dog. It's a clever illusion.
If you look closely at the photo, you can see how the DoD obviously photoshopped Jake the cat to look just like a dog, but if you zoom in and apply a contrast filter, anyone can see that they didn't hide the opal shaped pupil that only cats have.
Hmm, but maybe they left that there to confuse us? Is it disinfo to blur the trail?

Just WHAT the HELL is going ON here?!?

CLOAKED as a cat. They have the technology now, I read about it on Rense. You're obviously spreading gov't disinfo.

13. This is about a conspiracy to "leash" something called "Jake"
Edited on Tue Mar-21-06 11:12 AM by HamdenRice
That's why it was moved to the 9/11 forum from the Pets. Of course, the "debunkers" will arrive shortly to explain how it would take too many people to "leash" "Jake" without someone coming forward, and besides, as engineers, they know that a "leash" could not possibly control "Jake" even if such a conspiracy to "leash" "Jake" had occurred.

BTW Hope, are we the only two DUers with weird enough taste to hang out in both the Pets group and the 9/11 forum???

19. It's all about Jake.
I think it's time we came to grips with the fact that Sheen did not put 9/11 over the top.

It was Jake the 9/11 Truth Cat.

I am ready to embrace this fact.

I mean ...look at those eyes! Can't you tell that he knows EVERYTHING!!!

(Hope2006...Your kitties are adorable. I gave up long ago putting Yoda- my mellow yellow kitty- on a leash. He just lays down and thats the end of that.)

21. Thanks, DR!
Yoda sounds like Spidey...typical Spidey harness behavior:

If cats could talk, they would tell us that they want to know the TRUTH.
