White House withholds notes taken by Sept. 11 delegation
The White House, already embroiled in a public fight over the deadline for an independent commission's investigation of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, is refusing to give the panel notes on presidential briefing papers taken by some of its own members, officials said this week.

The standoff has prompted the 10-member commission to consider issuing subpoenas for the notes and has further soured relations between the Bush administration and the bipartisan panel, sources familiar with the issue said.

Lack of access to the materials would mean that the information they contain could not be included in a final report about the attacks, several officials said.

"We're having discussions on this almost hourly or at least daily," said the commission's vice chairman Lee Hamilton, a former Democratic congressman from Indiana.

1. One question:
What have they got to hide?

2. I am not a tin-foil hat person, but all of the stonewalling and refusal
to hand over important papers points to LIHOP. I wish this investigation would totally destroy the credibility of this administration and tell the country that "BU$H KNEW" so when they do make OBL appear, the people will say, "whatever georgie, you captured a guy that you let commit the crime, don't pat yourself on the back to hard".

It may be the best chance the dems have and candidates like Clark, Dean, Sharpton and DK will be sure to tell the people what the true story is.

3. Tangled web
Do you ever get the feeling that this administration is reeling along, like a drunken madman being chased by the cops?

Any day now, the grownups are going to rein these children in. They've made too much rope to hang themselves, and they're not going to be able to hide it all in the end.

5. Amen to that !
In just one day (yesterday) the Bush administration backtracked on the space shuttle, the invasion of Pakistan (!) and the possible need for an inquiry into the prewar intelligence. How's that for one day's work ?

BTW, wasn't there already supposed to be some congressional panel looking into the prewar intelligence issue but they "suspended" operations because the Democrats were "politicizing" it ? That seems to have gone down the memory hole.

Why do people even try to follow the latest spew from Bush and company ?
It's all in flux from minute to minute.

6. Good visual - I'll go you one further...
I see the BushGate administration as the subject of one of those car chases that Fox loves to show us.

4. I guess the panel poses a security risk to the nation.
The panel - Hamilton and others - work for entities favorable to Al Queda. Right? Or they would leak and cause another attack. Right?
